Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great seat! Although the seat comes with a hefty price tag, it is worth every penny. With the stock seat on my Yamaha 950 I was stopping every 50-60 miles to get some feeling back in my rear end. With the Mustang seat I can ride all day and am only limited by my fuel range, every 200 miles. The fit was perfect and installs easily. If you do long distance cruising I highly recommend this seat. I am 5'7"/160 lbs and it is a perfect fit for me. Prior to purchasing the Mustang seat, I was thinking about selling the bike as the stock seat was so uncomfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved My Butt I had the original 'Day Tripper' seat for my 2007 Shadow when I drove from Calgary, Alberta to Victoria, BC. This isn't the first time I've done this trip and I sure don't remember it hurting as much it did on this one. Maybe I'm old and cranky. Never in my life have I thought so much about my coccyx — it seemed the entire weight of the planet was balanced precariously on my tailbone. At first I blamed the awkward seating position Honda dreamed up, a minute later I screamed at the British Columbia Highways Department after hitting a particularly cunning pothole. By the time I hit Sicamous, BC I was taking breaks every 30 minutes and cursing the heavens. Eventually I got to Victoria and the first thing I did was order a new Mustang Touring Seat from FortNine. I didn't say 'hi' to family, I didn't jump into the Pacific Ocean as is my ritual, instead I limped and crawled to a computer and hit my favourite website FORT NINE. Fast forward to the drive home a few weeks later: This new seat is AMAZING! I now remember what it's like to enjoy riding long distances on two wheels and was able to take the wicked-winding roads every chance I got, and not once tasted blood mixed with spinal fluid or gave a passing thought to my once brutalized coccyx.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whole new bike No doubt it is worth every dollar it cost. Replace the original cheap uncomfortable narrow seat with this wide, ultra comfy, hi quality ride changer. After couple hours I still feel like riding more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Comfortable Wow, what a difference between the stock seat and this Mustang seat can't wait to be able to do an all day ride. Last year after one to two hours I had to stop get off the bike and walk around

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort plus Rather than upgrade to a fancier bike to get a better passenger seat, we changed the seats on my Honda 1300VTX-R. The Mustang is awesomely comfy for my wife. She now asks to go for a scoot. Driver's seat & backrest are an excellent match. Four thumbs up!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very comfortable After purchasing my first Mustang seat for another model I did not delay when I upgraded my bike to also upgrade the seat to a mustang. It is comfortable and even without the back rest gives me lots of low back support to allow me to ride for hours at a time with taking a break. Apparently not so good for the passenger as she still likes to stop.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very comfortable! I bought the seats about a month ago and was able to put nearly 500 kms on them. They were kind of hard at first and it seems the back of the seat pushed you forward a bit. It seemed awkward at first but now the seat gel has settled and the seats are very comfortable. The rider’ backrest makes a huge difference also. I used to have pain in the shoulders after a 2 hr ride. With the backrest the pain is gone and I could ride for hours. The quality of the seat, seams, is excellent. Would recommend Mustang seats to every rider.

There is another Mustang model available; the Mustang Solo Touring seat. However unfortunately, the Mustang two-up seat cannot be used as a solo seat.

Hi, my question is about the backrest option for the Mustang seats. It adds a lot to the cost of the seat and wondered if it was worth spending the extra money for it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It depends on how much your ride. It's a godsend during long trips but not necessary for short ones. It's also very helpful to people with lower back pain as backrests can offer quite a bit of lumbar support.
