                  Olympia Dakar 2 Jacket

The Olympia Dakar Dual Sport Jacket has a ferocious appetite for adventure. Thanks to its durable outer shell and unique 3 layer system for temperature and weather condition versatility, the Olympia Dakar Jacket is just as happy chowing down endless highway miles in the driving rain as it is pigging out on tight technical trails with a side of thick brush.

Layer One - consists of a rugged outer shell cut in Cordura nylon with ballistic mesh panels for maximum airflow and superior abrasion resistance. Six external pockets, two interior pockets and an oversized waterproof back pocket offer multiple storage options. Additional features include a cushy neoprene framed collar, side waist adjuster straps and reflective detailing at the chest, back and side arms for increased visibility in low light situations.

Layer Two - consists of a functional AquaRes laminated rain jacket that can be worn over or under the main outer shell as weather conditions dictate. A stow away hood with a rubberized neck gaiter conceals neatly inside the collar and fits comfortably under a helmet. The neck gaiter provides full circumference waterproof protection as needed. Additional features include 3M Scotchlite reflective piping at the front, sides and back plus side entry pockets and an interior stash pocket for stowing personal items.

Layer Three - consists of a removable full sleeve thermal layer with Thermolite insulation and an interior storage pocket. This layer can be zipped into the main outer shell or the rain jacket shell as needed. This handy zip out feature insures multi season riding comfort through a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent multi season jacket From the instant I put it on I knew I made the right choice of jacket. I was looking for a jacket that can get me through Spring Summer and Autumn and this is it. Very good attention to detail, the snaps, zippers, lining at the cuffs are all good quality. Also the jacket is quite light, once you out it on feels very versatile, almost soft so movement is non restrictive. Fantastic venting from the mesh panels, the liner is warm but I haven't had a chance to really test out the rain jacket in a heavy down pour yet. Plenty of adjustment for different sizing... Having said that I am normally an XL but looking at their sizing chart I went with a 2XL and glad I did. This brings me to my only gripe about the jacket. The neck roll on the jacket is very nicely finished with a neoprene collar so it sits up against your neck and is very comfy, unfortunately the velcro tab used to secure it around your neck is a smidge short for a 2XL sizing. Other than that everything else fits like a glove. If this jacket had D30 ce 2 pads as standard issue it would be the best jacket on the market given its price. I will be upgrading the armour shortly as this jacket is a "keeper" and I hope to have many years good use from it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect Overall quality and details excellent or above average anyway. Thanks to straps and belt the fitting is universal. I am very skinny so in my case is perfect for layering. Because I layer a lot I am riding in the Muskoka area (Ontario) in mid October without suffering any cold. A little uncomfortable around the neck. Waterproof inner/outer layer works perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from versatile This jacket fits a little small, with all 2 layers inside the jacket. I usually wear a XL, or XXL with room for armor, but this one fits just okay with room for just a thin fleece inside. The rain coat fits well over the outside, and makes for a good wind break on this very ventilated jacket.

About the protectors (e.g. armors) in the jacket, which of these CE-levels are they: CE-level 1 or CE-Level 2?

                  Asked by: RestoralaxMagic
CE-1 , also the shape of the armour and its pockets are a little different so finding D30 armour to suite can be tricky.. but still it's an excellent jacket and if you dont want to spend Klim $$ I'd highly recommend it.
