The best quality retro lid out there
At least right now, I'd have to say the AGV X3000 is the best retro lid you can buy; it's better built than the Gringos, quieter and 'sturdier' than the Bell Bullitt, and more retro-looking than most other helmets out there - it's basically an exact replica of Agostini's lid from the 1970s. This helmet doesn't look out of place on almost any motorcycle.
The main attraction is the quality of finish and interior; the paint is excellent, the interior plush genuine suede leather, the visor is snappy (in the good way), and the ventilation is decent for a retro - note I say decent, not 'good'. The only real issue is the visor it comes with - it's exceptionally basic, and for $500 CAD, I expected a better visor (something with better anti-fog properties, chiefly).
Ultimately, I think people who are in need of a retro lid without looking too much like a hipster should check this out - it'll be a quieter and less claustrophobic alternative to the Bullitt, and a lot safer than the Gringos (and other similar cheaper retros). The price is high, but short of the visor, well worth it. You are not going to get a retro lid that performs like a modern one - I do not believe it's possible. The AGV X3000, however, is about as close to modern performance in a genuinely retro lid that you can get right now.

Quiet and cool retro
I’ve had the AGV X3000 it’s about 8 months now. I also have a bell bullit, biltwell gringo S. This helmet is in a galaxy of its own when compared to the other two.
First it’s Very quiet, if I were to compare it the the Bell Bullit it wouldn’t even be a fair comparison. The bell is the loudest helmet I’ve ever worn.
The fit is spectacular. I have a medium to long oval head shape and this helmet fits me like a glove.
The visor has never fogged up on me irrelevant of the temperature.
I would highly recommend.

Quality retro helmet
I bought this helmet based on reviews, and found the M/L to be a great fit.
There’s a reason this helmet gets so many positive reviews. It’s well made, and super comfortable. Reasonably quiet at speed. Visor, and airflow work great.

Really good alternative to Bell Bullitt; Quieter, lighter, more comfortable. Runs a little large, and venting is minimal but overall good helmet, Bullitt has better quality materials inside and better field of vision, but the X3000 is better designed.

Nice quality and comfortable
I purchased and started wearing this helmet 3 weeks ago. This is my main helmet and it replaces an open face helmet. Out of the box it looks and feels nice and made from high quality materials with impressive fit and finish. It's very comfortable, light and has pretty good ventilation (considering it only has one air intake at the top of the visor) and the field of vision is just right. It feels quiet, but since my previous helmet was an open face, it's difficult to compare. The visor detents are solid and hold the lens in the chosen position. The retro look is in my opinion awesome, and I'm not the only one that believes so as confirmed by the thumbs up and compliments I've gotten from strangers.

Great fit

AGV X3000 SUPER IS SUPER!
Aside from being a beautiful helmet, it is very well constructed using high quality materials. The retro-race look has great curb appeal. The fit and finish is immaculate. The lens is thick with very good optic qualities and the detents hold the lens in the position you choose. I've owned many helmets and the AGC X3000 is the best!

Questions
Reviewers are stating the helmet runs large. My head size is 57cm and the size guide shows that as ML. Should I go with the ML or size down to the MS?
The issue with sizing on this helmet is that it is slightly different in shape to most other helmets. The information you mentioned is based on a limited number of reviews. Based on more reviews, the size chart is fairly accurate, so we would recommend starting with the size ML. Does the helmet offer extra cheek padding? I need an additional 1/2". The top is somewhat ok, but having high cheek bones there's no contact lower down .. I'm 60.5 cm, intermediate oval. The chart said XL which is waay too big.
