          Description

Which is the best sort of lock for a motorcyclist to carry for normal use? Brake disc locks are a practical solution for many motorbikes. They are very compact, light and thus easy to transport. If your vehicle is to be parked for a long time in a place where there is a high risk of theft, combining the lock with a chain is recommended to prevent the motorbike from being carried away.

          Technology:

          • 13 mm steel bolt
          • The bolt, lock body as well as supporting elements of the locking mechanism are made of special hardened steel
          • Alarm function on basis of the ABUS 3D detection system that means, that every movement is detected
          • Alarm of at least 100 dB for 15 seconds (activates automatically again)
          • Lock can be transported in locked condition without activating the detection system thanks to automatic brake disc recognition system
          • A multi colour LED and different acoustic signals inform about battery, activation and alarm status
          • ABUS X-Plus cylinder for highest protection against manipulations, e.g. picking
          • Two keys are supplied with the lock, one LED lighted
          • ABUS Code Card for additional or replacement keys
          • Two AAA standard batteries for the alarm function are included

          Operation and use:

          • Very good protection at high theft risk
          • Recommended for securing valuable motorbikes

          Transport

          • Protective bag included for easy and secure transportation in a special compartment e.g. under the seat

          Tips:

          • Brake disk locks are a very compact category of motorbike locks and consequently easy to transport
          • To increase the security during longer parking time it is recommendable to secure the motorbike to a fixed object additionally
          • Thanks to the 3D detection system the motorbike rider gets warned when lifting the bike into upright position and an unintended ride off with the locked bike is prevented
          • When the detection is activated the red flashing LED has an additional deterrent effect

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Lock IMPORTANT INFO: This was missing from EVERY product description I could find of this lock, YouTube, forums, even ABUS' own site failed to tell me the distance INSIDE the lock so I could determine if it would fit over my disk. The fitment is in the attached photo. Time will tell if this lock is any good. I've taken it on and off a few times without it going off. You have to read the instructions. The videos I watched on it seem to be done by people who didn't read them. 1)The beep(s) you hear when you lock it are NOT the alarm, they are the arming beeps - the actual alarm is louder than these. 2) The steel ball on the inside has to be over the metal of your brake disk, if its over one of those holes in the disk than you'll hear a few beeps and then the alarm will go off. Make sure its over one of the holes. The people complaining that a) the alarm isn't loud enough may be talking about the arming and warning beeps and b) the people complaining about it going off for no reason probably aren't paying attention to where that steel ball is sitting on the disk.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid but could be louder for the price point Was a little annoying trying to figure out how to put it on without alarming it but managed to make it work on my 2021 scout bobber and now I can do it quickly on and off without setting it off. Lock feels solid compared to other locks on the market and the yellow body I got makes it very visible. The annoyance feature on the alarm is nice and so is the reset. I just wish it was louder for the price point and I'm not sure how much of a deterrent the alarm at its current sound level actually is for a determined thief. I got a reminder cable for the lock but standing up my bike the lock is sensitive enough to alarm so it's a good reminder by itself. I feel like this lock in conjunction with a chain or cable to an immovable object plus a cover is more than enough to keep my bike parked outside over night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid solution! Very nice device, super sturdy. Took a few tries to get it on the disk without moving too much and starting the alarm. Don't forget to buy a disk lock reminder!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Robust unit Seems to work as advertised, solid unit. Good lock on its own, alarm is a plus With my drz400sm with oversized front disk, its a little tight to get the key in, but i think i will get used to it. Easy to put on rear disk ( bit more room for key) The reset after 15 seconds is a nice feature. Off course it wont stop a pro (pick up bike and throw in a van) but will scare away the amateurs

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hefty block of steel Right off the bat when you grab this lock you can tell it means business. It's heavy and if feels strong, I mean, it's nearly 2 lbs of steel. Many disk locks can be silently defeated with two pry bars but this isn't one of them. Dealing with this thing involve either removing the wheel and disc it is attached to or using a grinder. Either way, it's going to slow down a thief and make some noise. The alarm is great, I never had a false alarm but it also never fails to trigger if you move the lock or the bike even a little bit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product but could be louder. I bought this lock a few weeks ago and use it everytime I leave my motorcycle alone more than 5 minutes. I accidentally set it off a few times and was a little disapointed by the volume of the alarm, it's loud but it could be louder. If you park in a busy street and you are eating in the back of a mildy crowded restaurant, you probably wouldn't hear it. I feel like its more a bonus to a good disk lock. Except for the volume aspect, everything else is nice. It's sturdy, it works great, goes onto my front disk without any problem but it won't fit the rear disk on my Ninja 650 2017. I like how the alarm doesn't go off that easily. I feel like it's the perfect sensitivity not too much so that the wind or road vibration will set it off but, enough that if somebody fiddle with your bike, it'll trigger. You have 5 seconds to unlock the lock before the alarm goes off and since the disk is low to the ground and the keyhole is facing down, you need to be kinda quick. I often unlock it with a second to spare. It comes with a pouch, 2 keys and a code that you can send them if you want another key made. Batteries are already inside and was working instantly when I opened the package. I didn't need to change the battery yet. It fits perfectly in my seat when I ride. It's pricey but I feel like it's worth it, If the alarm was 10-15 db louder it would be close to perfect. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product This is a very solid, high quality disc lock. Definitely the best of the best. I use it every time I park my bike. No false alarms yet (from wind, etc). It's rather expensive, but for me it's worth it for the peace of mind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient and peace of mind. Been using this for a couple of months now. Easy to use and high quality materials. I primarily use it when parked outside a motel for the night on road trips, or in parking lots where my bike is out of my sight. Biggest positives for me are the sturdy construction, replaceable batteries, and loud alarm. Only con would be the price tag. However, cheaper units I've had are no comparison for this quality.

Does this lock fits on the Honda CB650F 2018?

          Asked by: Hfcc139
It should, it’s universal. So long as you have a gap in your disc of 3/4” to pass lock shackle through it will work on any disc.

No. There's no need, it's very very loud after the warning beeps.
