Storage space is a rare commodity on a motorbike or scooter and yet it always needs securing against theft and unauthorised use. Which is the best sort of lock for a motorcyclist to carry for normal use? Brake disc locks are a practical solution for many motorbikes. They are very compact, light and thus easy to transport. If your vehicle is to be parked for a long time in a place where there is a high risk of theft, combining the lock with a chain is recommended to prevent the motorbike from being carried away.
Technology:
14 mm steel bolt
Very handy due to rubberized ring
The bolt, lock body as well as supporting elements of the locking mechanism are made of special hardened steel
The round shape and the three independently rotating pieces hinder the use of opening tools
ABUS X-Plus cylinder for highest protection against manipulations, e.g. picking
Two keys are supplied with the lock, one LED torch key
ABUS Code Card for additional or replacement keys
A Memory Clip as reminder to prevent an unintended ride off with the bike still locked is included. In case of the 68 Roll up, the Memo Cable is integrated in the lock
Operation and use:
Good protection at high theft risk
Recommended for securing valuable motorbikes
Transport:
Protective bag included for easy and secure transportation in a special compartment e.g. under the seat
Tips:
Brake disc locks are a very compact category of motorbike locks and consequently easy to transport
To increase the security during longer parking time it is recommendable to secure the motorbike to a fixed object additionally
This lock is also available in a special chain combination (longer bolt)
For very narrow spaces between bolt and fork, a flattend bolt version is available

It locks your discThe lock itself seems sturdy. The shackle is too big to fit through any of the mounting bolts on my disc and looked like it was small enough to pull through between the mounting fins, however this is not the case. As a physical and visual deterrent it looks as good as any other, and the rotating parts might be a gimmick but I like the idea.
I had hoped that this lock would come with the mounting bracket advertised by Abus themselves, but it doesn’t and Abus haven’t responded to my emails. In the end I made one that is now attached to the exhaust mounting bolt, so it’s handy and out of the way.
All told I like this lock. It’s a step up from the free (used) one I got when I bought my bike, and having more than one key is great! ;)

It is not cheap, but offers a good solutionVery satisfied with the product. The fact that the lock spins and its shape make it harder for someone to cut it without damaging the break disc (hopefully defeating the thief's purpose). In addition, the attached cord helps me to remember to remove the lock before the ride.

Pretty goodThis is the lock to buy. It goes through the sprocket on my Versys 300. More or Less unpickable and I can’t see how it could be beaten with bolt cutters or a grinder.

Absolutely love this lockIt's easy to use, easy to store on bike. Worth the money. I'm going to get a second for my other machine. Came quick. I love dealing with FortNine!

Abus Granit Victory X-Plus 68 disc lockExcellent product that works exactly as advertised. Although expensive, the piece of mind is worth the cost to me. The only fault (very minor) is that the cord to the clutch lever is black, meaning a klutz like me could overlook it. I solved this by using a bright yellow curly cord purchased separately to remind me to remove the lock before destroying my disc.
Does this come with the mounting bracket as per the Abus website? And is it possible to remove the reminder cable?
Thanks!
Asked by: NorthernNurse
No the mounting bracket is not included. The reminder cable retracts automatically onto an internal spool, so no need to remove if you won't use it.

What is the difference between the full and the roll up other than price for the abus victory 68.
Asked by: Colin
Check the product variant tab on the ABUS page. Roll-up has the retractable handlebar/lever loop, the other one comes with a coiled yellow "clothesline" cable for the handlebar/lever loop. Seems like quite a premium to get the retractable version.
