Abus Granit Victory X-Plus 68 Chain Lock Item # 158875
Description
There are usually plenty of attachment options on the wheels and frame for securing them to a fixed object. A bike that is secured in this way cannot simply be picked up and carried away - which is a real security advantage. It may also be possible to use a combination of a brake disk lock and a chain. This combination is a so-called "2-in-1" solution. That means the brake disc lock can also be used without the chain and is the perfect compact companion for trips that include brief stops.
Technology:
- 12 mm strong loop chain with fabric sleeve to prevent damage to the motorbike's paintwork
- 14 mm steel bolt
- The round shape and the three independently rotating pieces hinder the use of opening tools
- The chain, the bolt, the lock body as well as supporting elements of the locking mechanism are made of special hardened steel

Tips:
- Chain lock combinations are a very good solution for locking a motorbike to a fixed object
- The loop chain allows a very efficient use of the chain's length
- Two in one lock that means that the brake disc lock can also be used without the chain
- To limit the possibilities of brutal attacks it is recommendable to avoid that the chain lays on or hangs close to the ground

Top Protection
Used on the back wheel during overnight trips with a Detecto 7000 RS1 on the front as a warning. Impossible to cut without very specialized tools. Run through swing arm or frame and secured to a post with chain off the ground to avoid blunt force/chisel attacks. I secure it to the back wheel as most professionals thieves have spare front wheels to swap out locked ones.

Great Combo
Great lock & chain combo. Very heavy duty and good quality. A bit on the expensive side but, a small price to pay if it deturs a criminal. Completely satisfied with my purchase.

Tough little lock
Tough little lock, works well for attaching to poles or a ground anchor. The chain is very heavy, so unless you have a bag to stash it in use it for home use only.

Solid chain
The quality and heft of the steel gives me reassurance that it will do the job. It is possible to lock the chain to itself by putting the disc lock through two links, even though it is not possible to put the end of the chain through another link. I would not bring this with me on a ride unless I had hard panniers and left my bike at the same place frequently, e.g. outside an office building. I've attached mine to an anchor lock. I've given 5 stars but it hasn't withstood a test against a thief so this review is provisional.
