Awesome Tank - Looks Modern, and Stylish
I've had a few IMS tanks, also plastic, for the DR650, and it's a nice surprise to find this tank looks good, while still providing much more fuel capacity than the stock DR tank.
I was worried initially that the fuel tap screws went directly into plastic, thinking they might not be strong enough, but they just work. No problem at all.
The fit and finish was second to none.
The fuel tap and cap supplied with the tank are also quality pieces.

I bought this 20 liter tank awhile ago for my DR-650 and I am just finishing off my first tank. I got the tank as one of my favorite rides in the foothills west of where I live requires me to carry gas. Another reason I got the tank is that I go for a ride almost every day to work. I work about three blocks away and I ride to clear my head and get ready for the day. I was always filling the stock tank but this tank gives me a lot more range so I don't have to fill up as often. I have contacted the manufacturer several times and they were great. They answered all my questions. It arrived very fast. I have a Seat Concepts seat and the tank fits pretty good but there are a few wrinkles as the tank seems to push the curve of the seat a bit. Most of the wrinkles are gone now that I have ridden it a bit. I bought a complete seat and didn't just redo mine. It kind of boggles my mind that Acerbis still provides a clip that doesn't fit the space in the seat. Also for the price paid I think that front signal light bracket extensions should be provided, but these fixes are minor and kind of fun to tinker with. I wasn't sold on the looks but now I am! It is super cool and the kids of the neighborhood love the purple breather tube. The finish of the tank is great. The petcock valve went on without a hitch. I have a choke knob on the side of the carb as the stock cable continuously kinked and fouled up, and I was worried that the size of the tank wouldn't allow me to operate it but I can, barely. I will get a different system soon as it is very tight to pull the choke knob on. I often forget to turn the gas off manually but that's just me. I was worried that the extra gas would affect handling but I haven't noticed anything. Over all I am very happy with the tank and I would buy it again. FortNine shipping and service continues to set the industry standard.

Great extra capacity
Bought this last year and used it for the riding months. Only reason I give it a 3 out of 5 was because mine was a pita to install with a few curse words as I had a few fitment and misalignment issues with the plastics afterwards. I still need to modify the aftermarket aluminum rad support to fit properly but I knew that before I bought the tank. I also now have a missing bolt on the right side of the tank because of the misalignment issue, however it does not compensate the structural integrity of the tank mounts and its still secure.

Awesome function fit and finish
Had concerns about fitment after reading other reviews. My tank fit the bike perfectly. I found fitment issues from bent radiators that's not the manufacuers fault.

Plenty of capacity now for the DR650
I bought this tank to have fewer fill ups. Install was easy but I had to trim the seat clip bracket that bolts to the tank to accept the slightly narrower slot molded into the Seat Concepts seat. I also had to fabricate relocation brackets for the front turn signals to avoid contact and bending when fully turned.

Perfect fit. Very large tank for long enduro rides
Happy with my purchase as I now have a tank that will allow me to ride further and not fuel up as much on my long trail rides and enduro races. Pretty easy to install and it was an exact fit. Other than cutting the hose that is supplied and figuring out how long to make the fuel lines, was pretty straight forward installation.

I read that the "blue option" did not match the stock yz blue, but that comment was old, is it still the case for a yz250x 2019?
This is still the case. The blue will not be a perfect match with the stock YZ blue

Looking at this for my 2014 CRF250L Dual Sport. Does all stock plastic still fit over it? Is it street legal? Can OEM locking gas cap be used? Does fuel pump mount into it? Anyone install this on a CRF250L?
Caps, applicable mount kits, fuel lines, petcocks and Y-fittings per application included as needed; EFI tanks do not come with a new fuel pump and are designed to accept the stock assembly. OEM locking gas cap cannot be used. You can buy one from Acerbis (2070769999). DOT regulates what comes from the factory, as in brand new manufactured that is built here or imported. They do not regulate aftermarket parts so the tank is no DOT approved. It is up to the provincial regulation to inspect and control aftermarket mod's. A good rule of thumb is if the OEM is steel, the replacement must be steel. If the OEM is plastic, then must be replaced with a plastic tank. Will fit with stock plastics.

Does it fit on a 2009 DR-Z400SM? As per your fitment checker, it doesn't fit, but when I check on MX1Canada website, they say that it fits so...I'm annoyed a little...
No, this will not fit your 2009 DR-Z400SM. Acerbis only lists a fuel tank for DRZ400/400E:00-07

No. I had to install the one that came with the stock tank.
