Reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Helmet with caveats Due to COVID I was unable to try helmets on locally so spent hours watching various helmet reviews and narrowed my choices down to the Scorpion EXO R1, HJC RPHA 11 Pro, and the Pista. I grabbed this colorway because it was the only one available in my size. Pro's - Amazing visibility (compared to a Nitek P1 and AGV K3SV). The clear visor this comes with makes it feel as if you're not wearing a helmet. I also have a Race 3 Iridium Gold Visor which is fine for day riding but would not recommend for night time riding - Fit perfect for me out of the box (MS same as my AGV K3 made me realize the K3 being a round oval is not suited for me as this is an intermediate oval) - Quiet on city streets* (See below) - Good airflow - with the visor in the first open position I don't find my glasses fogging up so I have not needed the pinlock for now. I do not notice any difference in airflow or noise in this position vs fully closed either so this works out great for me as I can set it and forget it. Con's/Caveats - All other helmets I own cover my jawline fully but this helmet sits on the jawline itself. Not a big issue but I had to get some reassurance with my racing buddies that this was okay since you rarely have an upwards impact that would hit the jaw - Project 43 3.0 not exactly as depicted. Per the product image I was expecting yellow text/graphics but in person it's really a faded light green color similar to how glow in the dark graphics look in daylight. See image attached (note yellow on the visor vs light green graphic) *When I ride full tuck, there is no wind noise and on city streets and as I do not rev bomb I don't need earplugs because of how quiet this helmet is. However it is EXTREMELY noisy if riding 3/4 position even with earplugs due to the amount of wind buffeting you experience. After a certain speed the wind drowns out the engine as well. Again, doesn't happen when in full tuck but how often do you full tuck your entire ride? I would give this a 3.5 but FN only does 3 or 4/5. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a full carbon helmet but understand you are spending 2-3x the price of other helmets that offer more features for something that can really only be utilized on the track.
