Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not fit my bike as guaranteed I selected this starter based on the fact that your website said it was a guaranteed fit for my 2005 Road Glide. I installed the starter and it would not send the starter gear out far enough to engage the primary gear and start the bike. I ended up getting a replacement starter clutch gear and repaired the starter I was replacing and now my bike starts. I would like to return this All Balls HD Starter for a refund

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than stock Nice smooth starter. Running a 380cca battery. You’ll want a strong battery for this starter. I did a big bore/high compression kit on my dyna and the stock starter wasn’t cutting it. Very happy with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Way better than OEM I have a 2007 XL1200N (Nightster) and have always had weak starts with the OEM starter. I have been through several solenoid repair kits and multiple batteries due to starter issues and finally realised that my difficulties were a function of starter motor torque. Long story short: the All Balls starter is noticeably more powerful and quicker to get my bike running.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT POWER Since I did the engine a couple years ago, boosted the comp. ratio, it always struggled to crank over. Put this starter on this spring, lots of power, cranks and starts good now.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Strong starter, but design is flawed Does the job... when it wants to stay on the bike. The difference in design means you CAN'T use an oem end support bracket, not that you don't need to. Both of the supplied 1/4-20 screws used to mount it to the gear housing sheared off, which meant I had to zip tie the starter motor in place to get home. Maybe this isn't a problem for barhoppers, but it's a poor design if you plan on putting miles on your shovelhead.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok….but The starter works fine but a piece of the plastic from the connector came off just by connecting the wire. My guess is that the size was off. It’s still holds the wire tightly but for the price i am disappointed. The oem starter has a thicker connector…..sometimes it’s better to get the original ! Has for the extra amp voltage….I don’t see any differences from the old starter.

Got a 95 Heritage softtail and just have issues with my starter starting to zing when I want to start it, which size would be good or fine? People are telling me to just get the drive for it but scared whole thing will go then. Anyone?

        Asked by: Hammer
Get the biggest starter that will fit. 1.4 to 2.0 kilowatt all balls starter. If you've got extra $ and high compression, drill your heads and put in Jim's compression release valves. You'll never have a starter issue ever again. To do both starter and release valves, it's a thousand buck touch. Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?

What’s the warranty for this starter?

        Asked by: DrJ58
It was a few years ago I bought this and I can't really give you a definitive answer, but usually any electrical component does not come with warranty unless it's a physical problem. Then it would be one year from date of purchase. As an aside I am very happy with this starter. Fits well and performs well. I do have compression release valves heads to help it though.
