High quality.
Very well made and comfortable. The cargo pockets aren't huge but are useful and secure. I ignored the note in the sizing chart recommending going one size up from that indicated, and ordered a medium (my usual size). Ending up exchanging it for a large, which fits well. (I am 5'8", 185 lbs, with a 34" waist and 30" inseam.) Also ordered the Nucleon hip protectors (CE level 1). Highly recommended.

Tight Sizing, Good Riding Comfort, Good Looks
Pants are match'd with the Andes V3 Jacket (grey). Actually used the suit skiing once. Pants feel fine in riding position, have an inner waterproof liner, seem a little long but not a problem (grey not available in short). Suspenders work well. Go ON/OFF easy. I threaded the removable inner liner with 7m of 28AWG wire for heat (45 watts). Also wired the jacket liner (90W), they plug together and make smooth heat. Only tested to 0'C so far, but SO nice. Would like more/better night time reflectors. Had to go way larger on sizing (try ON first). Not tested in wet yet (or hitting ground).

waterproof, Prenez 2 tailles au-dessus

Great first pair for a newbie to grow into
I bought these pants almost 1.5 years ago now and I've really liked them. First ever pair after getting my first bike.
5' 10" @ 165-170lbs - I usually wear pants/jeans with a 32" leg length.
Similar to other reviews I had to go a size up on these. I bought the matching Andes jacket in size L and the pants in XL. Velcro straps around the waist and calves allowed me to snug it up for a good fit.
Came with a removable "thermal" liner that I ended up keeping off even during the colder months in Vancouver and surrounding areas. To its credit, the pants did keep my legs dry during a ride full of heavy rain. The two zipper vents on the thighs are all you get for breathability, but I have rarely found myself desperate to get out of them due to heat. As a moto-gear newbie, I think the protection could be better. Planning on getting the hip protection add-ins. The knee protection seems questionable, but the pads appear to be removable. There's a small zipper at the bottom of the pant leg that allows you to fish your hand up behind the mesh liner. So there may be opportunity to upgrade the inserts.
I've only had one "fall" in them where I dumped the bike doing a U-turn out on the FSR's. Obviously, speed was zero, but the pants saved me from what would've have been a possible scraped/scratched up knee and calf. Will probably continue to ride in these until something wears out or breaks on them.

Sizing chart is wrong.
I checked the chart, bought the right size expecting it to be snug. Eventually as I'm losing weight to be comforable. Pants will not fit, at all. Unfortunatelly I took the tags off. Stores are sold out, buy online and it's a crap shoot.

Not for big guys
I tried a 3XL and it felt like I was putting on yoga pants. I have a 38inch waist and they were laughably small. They felt well made but the sizing is nutty.

Fits much smaller
I bought these specifically because of the liner and the exterior rain cover. First inspection shows good quality and excellent functionality. Based on the measurements chart I ordered 1 size bigger and they were still too small. That is the only reason for the Average rating. Also bought them on sale so when I tried to re-order they were out of stock. I was forced to buy a Different item

Is there a 3XL Long size?
Unfortunately, we do not carry the Alpinestars Andes V3 Drystar Pants in size 3XL long.

Are knee pads removable?
Yes.
Date published: 2025-11-07
What is the difference between the 2xl regular and the 2xl long?
Regular is recommended for those with a 28" to 30" inseam. The long version would add an additional 2": 1" above the knee and 1" below the knee.

Can these pants be hemmed? I wear a 38"/36" waist in pants and a 30" inseam. The size I think I need would have way to long of an inseam.
My son said that the lining doesn't quite go to the bottom but there is a velcro strap to snug the leg at the bottom so not sure you would want to hem them up. Unless you could remove the strap and re sew it or add a new strap. If you sew it might be possible. Good luck.

What does the medium-short mean?how long is the inseam?
For the Medium-Short the inseam is between: 29 1/2" - 30 1/2"
Each waist size will have a different inseam.
The Shorts have a 2" shorter inseam than the standard.
The Tall have a 2" longer inseam than the standard.
You can reference the measurement of the "Inner Leg" on the size chart to find the standard size and then add/remove 2" to find the difference in inseam for each style.
