Decent protection but fits 1 size smaller.
Protects all the major areas, minus ribs/kidneys. Knew that buying it though, so great value for the price especially if it's on sale.
I'm 6'2" + 230lbs with average build and the 2XL *just* zips up and fits. This may be by design with the idea being it will stretch out some as you wear and use it, but I can't see it being good for the zipper in the long term.
The build quality seems excellent and overall I'm very happy with it and can't wait to put it through the paces this season! Will update review with post season report.

Way too tight
If you're what I would call ''normal size'' (wear a large in t-shirt) buy the biggest size available. The fit is really tight. If you little overweight don't even think about this one. The quality is good and I would recommend it if it actually fits you.

(NOT for the street), looks and feels great!
Disclaimer for new riders: this isn’t going to protect you against a slide! It’s a jacket designed for off-roading, so the fabric that holds the armour together will rip upon abrasion. That said, it is way better to have this protection than none.
I’m a female, 5’8 and usually wear XS and S tops. The small fit relatively well, with room to layer for the colder weather. If worn with only a t-shirt, it does move around a little more than it probably should, but not enough to be a cause for concern.
It’s very breathable, and body fitting (so it’s quite flattering!). Can be used underneath Kevlar hoodies and other jackets. Note on the picture: I layered a lot in it!! A merino wool long sleeve t-shirt and a waterproof liner from a Alpinestars jacket I have. It fits good. I recommend it.

Provides good protection, snug fit, comfortable
Happy with this jacket, it's perfect for summer riding as it breathes exceptionally well. At first I thought it was way too tight, but then realized there's adjustment in the back.
I fortunately haven't crashed while off pavement yet, but the jacket seems to provide good protection and the price is reasonable.
About the only complaint I have is that there are no pockets whatsoever, but that's pretty common with this style of "jacket".
I would buy this item again.

True To Size, Comfortable To Wear, Looks Great!
Bought this jacket from a local shop and I can't recommend it enough to those looking for a nice armored jacket to wear UNDER your existing jacket/sweater/etc. I wear mine underneath either my jean jacket or leather jacket in the cooler temps. It fits true to size; I'm a medium in women's casual clothing and purchased a medium. They're meant to fit tight/form fitting so the armor stays in place. My only complaint is that the lower shirt portion likes to ride up on me but since it's underneath my gear, it doesn't bother me. The important part is the armor staying where it needs to be while I ride!

Our local track requires "hard shell" spine protection. You mention hardened shell in one of your answers. Is the spine protection hard shell or more like the dense flexible Level 2 material we see on removable knee and elbow pads? Thanks.

Should I size up if I have a larger chest? Or is my T-shirt size good?
I would decide the size based on your chest size/bust size as this product has an adjustable waist and refer to the size chart.

Hello is there hard shell at the shoulders ?
No it is a Soft Shell Foam protector for the shoulders and elbows. The chest and back has Foam padding on top of the hardened shell.

Yes you could, as long as you have some room in the hoodie to accommodate another layer.

is it abrasion resistant and will it get damaged in the rain?
This product is not listed as waterproof or water-resistant - therefore we recommend using a Waterproof Shell, most riders use the Hurricane Rain Jacket. This is a CE-certified jacket the Youth's version Back protector is Level 1, the Chest is Level 2, and the Shoulder is Level 1.
