Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice quiet lid for oval shaped heads This is my third Arai, and I am happy with the fit and finish of it. For the money, I would like a better shield change mechanism, inner tinted visor, and better venting. The venting on the top is curiously complex and piddly. Make a single slide open and shut and be done with it. That being said, it has a great liner, I can fit speakers inside easily, and it is quieter than my bargain lid. But since it is 550 dollars MORE than the bargain lid, it bloody well better be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding as always!!! Bought mine in June 2016 and as with all the Arai's I've had it's awesome! My only issue is how you change the visor! I don't understand why the mechanism of the quantum E & F's could not be reworked as you need at least a coin to change it. But apart from that it's so comfy, once I stripped some foam out! Love it and in the late winter sun the peak works so well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this helmet! This helmet is definitely an upgrade from all past helmets. I historically bought nothing but Bell because I could grab anything they make in a XXL and it would fit perfectly. Putting on the XD-4 for the first time was that and more. The fit was perfect and the removal layers was a bonus if needed. Definitely wear it awhile before pulling out foam to see how it settles in. Great air flow, quality build, everything I’d expect from a premium brand. My only complaint would be there is not enough length in the strap to loop through the double Ds and then snap to secure. Chubby face so I will split the difference with the Arai designer. The Klim was noticeably lighter but their ridged design on the interior put a pressure point just above my forehead. Looks like Arai is my new, go to, helmet……not a bad place to land.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great helmet! I recently bought this helmet and I have been using it for about a month now. I measured my head, and bought the size according to the sizing chart. It fit me perfectly when it arrived. I love the visibility out of this helmet. I can see so much more in the peripheral than out of my old street helmet. The shape of the shied makes it clear to look out of and I have not had a problem with glare. I had been worried about the wind tugging at my head when I ride because of the visor, but even in high winds so far that has not been a problem for me on my bike. The airflow through this helmet is fantastic. It is easy to adjust the vents while riding, with gloves on. If find the shield a bit tricky to crack open, and push closed while I'm riding and wearing gloves. I'm hoping that gets easier for me after I've owned it for longer. My previous helmet was carbon, so I find this a bit heavier but it is quieter. It is still noisy enough that I feel that I need to wear earplugs when riding. I use a Cardo Freecom 2+ on the helmet, and it the earphones and the mic fit well for me inside. I also wear glasses, and I find I am comfortable with my glasses on inside the helmet. So far I'm very happy with my purchase. It it is a high quality, well build helmet. Hopefully I never have to test it to see how it holds up in a crash.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light and comfortable Great helmet. Light and comfortable. Good ventilation and a great fit on the visor closure. Good, wide field of view. Have not tried it with goggles yet. Only thing I don’t like is I find the strap with the D rings a little too close to the helmet so my large hands have a difficult time doing up the strap. No big deal though. Highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Post mortem review! Don't worry, only the helmet is dead. I crashed hard last summer somewhere between Vernon and Merritt B.C. When I say somewhere I mean we were off track and in a hurry to get more lost! So of course I caught an edge in the abandoned two track and went down hard. After a long dry summer the ground was like concrete. My left hip hit first, then my shoulder and finally my Arai XD encased noggin. My head hit hard with the increased velocity from the whiplash after everything eles had hit the ground and... when it did, before I went semi unconscious, I could actually hear the styrofoam crushing! So yes all the bells and whistles are great. The D rings don't bother me and the flat screen is neutral. But this helmet get 5 outa 5 for doing it's real job!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So comfortable I bought this helmet and month ago and I have to say that is the most comfortable and nicest helmet I ever had In my life 10/10

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It looks and it is a solid helmet It is the type of product that inspires quality from the moment you take it out of the box. It looks and it feels solid. A myrriad of air flow combination, the visor open and huts airtight with an assuring "click" plus it allows the use of goggles without removing it. I'm not a fan of "double D" securing strap, but that's the norm I guess. It feels tight when try it for the first time, but you have to allow break in time or you can adjust the thickness of the cheek pads by removing a layer of foam.

                  Questions

How is the sizing as compared to Bell helmets?

                  Asked by: Ctofer
Different brands size their helmets differently, even within their own sub-models so we cannot answer the question. The XD4 is listed as an “Intermediate Oval”, possibly slightly narrower than a true intermediate oval helmet. However, the XD4 internal shape should fit the majority of head shapes because it’s more or less “Neutral”. Size chart is also accurate so we recommend going with the suggested size based on your head circumference.

Does the Cardo Pactalk slim work with the Aria xd4 Vision?

                  Asked by: SuperBee
Can't answer for certain about the Pactalk Slim, but I did try this helmet with a Cardo Freecom unit. I found the speakers that came with that unit tight on my ears. So much so that I pulled the unit and speakers out of the helmet and went back to simple earbuds. Not sure if the speakers with the Slim unit would give you the same grief or not.

How quiet/noisy is this helmet compared to  a more street going Scorpion EXO ST 1400, or the HJC RPHA 70??

                  Asked by: ALVINATOR
I also own a Shoei Neotec 2 but never owned one of your listed brand. I would say the ARAI is good noise wise, lateral visibility thru the visor is better vs the Shoei. Solid built. I later took the ear foam pads out to add speakers so you will hear more road noise obviously now.
