Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tarmac traction - so so longevity I bought a set of these tires just before my month long, fully loaded, 12k+ cross Canada trip. Nearly all of my miles were on highway. I experienced hot sunny days and cold rainy days and the tire traction on tarmac was great in all conditions including fast accelerations and a few sudden stops. I was hoping the tires would last me the whole trip but I had to change out the rear tire after 10k. I probably should have done so earlier as the belts were showing. The front tire will probably last me another 10k. All and all, a good tire with average longevity.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It hasn't wiped me out yet!!!!! Bought this tire to replace my awesome Distanzia which is no longer offered. I like the tread pattern and the amount of rubber contacting the road. I was watching my mechanic mount the tire and it was quite a challenge to get the bead to seat compared the quick 'pop' of the Distanzia. Eventually it got there. I've been riding on this tire for a bit now in winter conditions in Vancouver and it sticks nicely to the road in rainy and cold conditions. I'm happy with this tire and the price was fantastic!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice tire for all weather I bought these mid season this year and they were awesome in the heat and now that I'm riding in 0 degrees to 10 degrees they are just as good. Sticky in the rain and good for the little gravel that is on the road.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice tire I bought these for a trip to James Bay, I heard there was a 100km stretch of gravel road to the Arctic Ocean. That road ended up being paved but the James bay road (700km) was mostly under construction and gravel, where it wasn’t already a bad Quebec road. Worked well, very good tire life, great handling. At little noise at first and a lot heavier than the factory supplied light weight super sport tires. They took some getting used to because of the weight, but glad I got them for the trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great on gravel forest roads Took the bike into the mountains on a rocky gravel road. They inspired a lot more confidence than the Anakee 3's I had previously. I also used them in the wet on twisty European roads, great tires!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great road tire Bought this tire for a 3000km road trip. It only has slight wear on it right now after the trip. Some gravel, some rain and it performed well on both.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Avon forever The tires are very well constructed. I was surprised how little balance weight was needed. They roll great and give good feel on turn in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I ordered it again Just ordered and received a second rear for Honda cb500x. Have about 15000km on the one currently mounted. Trip I ordered it for fell through, so likely going to wait for the off season to change it up. Likely to get another 2000km without issue. Front has lots of tread left. Sticks like glue on pavement wet or dry, and does the job well on gravel roads. If you're in sand much, or do a lot of off road you'd likely want something more aggressive. Very happy for my use.

What tire pressure is best for gravel? Have a 2005 Yamaha Fz6. I put 33lbs in the front and 36lbs in the rear (factory pressures).

        Asked by: Newoldrider
I don't think that they are designed to do a lot of travel on gravel, like 10%. If you do ride lots on gravel, get a different tire. That being said, I'd run them no lower than 30psi.
