Rated 5 out of 5 by from They actually work!! I have been riding in December in Toronto. Temps have been around 0C which gives a wind chill of at least -10C at speed. I have heated grips and large Acerbis hand guards but my hands still got cold. The Barkbuster hand guards fit over the smaller Acerbis hand guards and took 5min to install. They don’t flap around, and they don’t look too bad either. I have no problems with the controls. Most importantly, my hand are always warm now. I was skeptical before I ordered them but I am glad I did. They work!!.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps hands warm These really keep the wind off your hands. As the temperatures get down to 5 degrees Celsius or below, these do a really good job of blocking the wind. I use these with heated gloves and have no problem riding when it’s a few degrees below zero. They work with Barkbuster backbones which is what I have, but they also can work without handguards by just using the included metal stiffening plate that keeps the material nice and taught. Takes about ten minutes to install and they should work universally for most bikes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Purchased these in the fall to ride my CBR500R from Ottawa to Windsor over Thanksgiving. Easy enough to install, but you should take a moment to bend the shape of each side so there is no interference with controls. Did not cause issues at full lock, since these are soft and will slightly collapse when against fairings.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Frosty digits, no more Cold hands suck. They sap energy and make clutch/brake lever transitions slow and sketchy which can be a touch dangerous. Heated grips certainly help but they only do half the job. I installed these Barkbusters on my Triumph Tiger and have noticed a pretty substantial difference. The fabric covers enough of the tops of my paws that the wind chill riding creates just doesn't seem to be a factor. That means I can ride comfortably without donning the bulky, insulated winter gloves that mask tactile feel on the bars and have (so far) barely needed to run the heated grips. If you're a 10-12 month rider, these will go a long way to improving comfort and, IMHO, safety on the bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I used these for my snowbike. I used the aluminum Moose Racing bar guards underneath as I don't think they're have the rigidity to take trees with just the stock hardware. They work perfect though and keep the wind and snow off. All your bar controls are easy to get at and they looking really clean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job, let you keep the bars in place Easy to install over standard barkbuster bars (you have to first remove the plastic wind deflectors). A bit narrow top to bottom, but not enough to interfere with controls. I do find the bottom panels tend to tuck up a bit in strong winds, or over 90 km/h, leaving my thumbs a bit exposed.

Questions

Can I fit these over top of my existing BB backbones w/ storm guards? Or will they ONLY fit once the plastic storm guards have been removed?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, these will fit right over top of the BB's with the guards on. No need to take them off.
