Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great upgrade form the factory pressed spring plat Upgraded form the factory plate and its just the best thing you can do to have even pressure on the clutch plates and extend the service life of the clutch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Barnett Pressure Plate Easy install. Nice purple colour. Stopped my clutch from slipping with only 58,000km on the stock part.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy fix to clutch slippage After 50K miles my clutch was slipping more and more, replaced the stock diaphram spring with this kit and now its like new. Did not even have to change the clutch plates. Need to also get replacement cover gasket and removing the remnants of the old gasket was the most time consuming part of the job. Overall it took only 40 min to complete. GREAT PRODUCT?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice upgrade for the Venture My diaphragm clutch was starting to slip on hard pulls and after reading all the positive reviews I decided to try this setup and happy that I did. Installation was easy and straight forward all parts fit perfectly. My clutch plates were not worn that bad so I did not change them. My clutch must have been slipping for awhile and I just got used to it because wow what a difference it made to the acceleration of my bike. My only complaint is that the gasket which is needed and not included in this kit would be nice. The clutch is much smoother, predictable and firmer this is a must for the Venture bike.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Barnett Clutch Spring Conversion Kit My '04 Road Star clutch would slip riding 2 up in 5th at highway speed. I opted for the Barnett over OEM because of excellent reviews. The fit was easy, if not overly long due to removing the case gasket....I did mail Barnett and queried the use of a ball type throw-out bearing instead of a roller thrust type...their reply was, it is the same bearing used by OEM,which it is, and is used by many other motorcycle manufacturers....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so far so good I have about 600kms on this clutch on my yamaha venture and am very impressed. Very smooth take off which is important with these heavy bikes. Quality of workmanship looks excellent and made on this continent. Make sure you order an OEM clutch cover gasket when ordering this product.

          Questions

when installing this on a 2003 v-star 1100 Classic, will I need a new set of clutch plates? If so which model should i go with?

          Asked by: spicyalien
You should be able to use your current plates as long as they aren't glazed or worn out.

What parts and tools are needed to do this job? Is it easy to do?

          Asked by: Aiden
You will need all the tools to remove the clutch side cover, clutch plate. You will need a new clutch cover gasket. A torque wrench, loctite. And a copy of the road star manual doesn't hurt for specs.
