Good Looks - Okay Durability
I bought these to fit to my '09 Ninja 250R to use with a rear stand. I figured the better look vs. a plastic version would be worth a few extra bucks.
They would not bolt right up to the 250's swingarm as the sockets are inset a by about 1MM. To solve this, I found some washers with the needed outside diameter to act as a spacer, and drill out the inner diameter with a step drill to match the 10MM bolts. (Photo included). After that DIY fix - they bolted in as expected.
The wide channel means the stand's forks don't have to be precisely placed, which means I can get it approximate, balance the bike with my arms, and use my foot to push the stand down and lift the bike. However, that's also the downside to these - since they allow play, the finish on the underside wore off pretty quick. Being aluminum, corrosion isn't as much a concern.
I haven't used another material type before to compare - so overall I'll rate these a 4.
