Do not buy this for a Yamaha bike.
Hey Friends, Let me help all of you out by saying do not buy this product. It is not a genuine or proper reproduction of a Yamaha light stem. The manufacturer has cut corners by casting the part in cheap plastic instead of metal and rubber. I have a Yamaha Virago 535xv from 1997 and I had to drill out the hole to make it bigger so the wires could feed through. Such a pain. People with Honda's seem to be ok with it when reading reviews, maybe those wire connectors are smaller, but for my yamaha this part was problematic. I would say just replace the entire light and stem to save time, you can find a pair used for just over $30 US. I posted some pics, the new stem is make of a coppery coloured looking metal, my guess is its a soft mixed nickle. Anyway, don't buy this. Cheers.

Close but not close enough
Installed two new stems to replace the originals in my 1985 Honda shadow VT1100 which were falling apart.
I didn’t have the same issue as the other one star review, mine sat snugly with the nut to hold it in place. They do however have a much too small of a conduit diameter, I had to snip the ends off to be able to feed the wiring through, and then reorder connectors because nobody carries the right original Japanese ones.
Second issue is the turn signals themselves don’t fit snugly on the end of the stem, they fit and the screw goes in fine but there’s slack so they slump a bit.

Very soft rubber
I managed to pull one of them apart during installation. They are much softer rubber than the originals although the originals may just have hardened over time. I have now found a more rugged version of these stems else where.

Worked in the end
Was hard to install into light.mounting bolt threads were very short,had to find another but to get it to fit.hole in centre of stem for wiring was too small and was very difficult to pull wires through.got it to fit was a challenge
