Works well on Yamaha V-Star 650
I needed a tachometer to perform a proper carbs sync and I searched the web back and forth, but couldn't find anything - reasonable priced - that would state unequivocally that it would work on my bike - 2008, Yamaha V-Star 650 - but it does! Since installing this tachometer I've changed how I switch gears. It's a good thing to have. There are videos on youtube how to install it - worked like a charm.

Love this Tach
I purchased this tachometer about a month ago. It arrived quickly in excellent condition. I am fairly new to the motorcycle world but installation was very easy.
It is well built and feels very solid. I found a mount point that had a threaded hole for a feature on a different model is my guess and used it for my mounting point. The black face makes it almost look factory compared to my speedometer.

Just the ticket
I wanted a tach for my old Road King because it seems all engine mods and tweaks are RPM based and I felt a tach would get me more "in touch" with my engine.
I didn't want to spend a lot so I picked this Bikers Choice handlebar-mounted mini tach. It was not too hard to install. All my connections were made in the back of the headlight nacelle so the length of the wiring stub that came with the unit was perfect - I didn't have to splice in any additional length and didn't have to cut off any excess.
The tach seems to work really well. The needle remains steady and is easy to read at a glance. With the backlight it's also easy to see at night. I can't verify the accuracy of the engine speed because I don't have a reference meter to compare with but it appears to be in the ballpark and it's definitely close enough for my purposes.
My only quibble is that the gauge gradations are in 500 rpm increments but 100 would be better. However it's not a big deal and I'm pleased with this unit.

Love the size
I am not sure what is up with this tachometer but took me four tacks to get one to work. Three of them were faulty. Install on Suzuki Intruder 1400

I bought this tach a month ago and I love, if you are going to buy a half decent tach at the price is so worth it, I had np hooking it up very happy with the purchase would recommend this item 100%

Purchased the Barons Tach Adapter for the single fire ignition. Does Not Work!
Ended up making my own adapter with recommended resistors and diodes. 100k - 1N4007. Tach now works but the needle is very bouncy throughout the RPM range. May try a different ohm resistor in the future but pulling the
gas tank off is a real pain! Hesitate to purchase again to be honest.

Not exactly what I expected.
I bought thos based on reveiws. Fair quality but looked terrible when mounted on my bars. I'll need to make a custom mount to make it look better. Mounted up with included hardware ok

Does this tach fit 2012 Yamaha Road star Silverado S 1700
It may depend on where you want to put it. The tach itself works good, especially for the price. The chrome mounting plate is brittle, so you won't be able to bend it much. I broke mine, ended up making my own. I'm happy with the tach, but my back light is blue, was expecting a soft white.

Will this work on my 1996 fatboy n how does it hook up …to the coil?
Hi there should work easily on your bike. From what I recall when I installed the tach was 1 wire to a coil another to a constant keyed power 12v (headlight low beam) and a ground anywhere to the frame
