Questions
Are these fully waterproof? Like, could one travel with a bag of dog food in there and it wouldn't get wet?
The bag itself would not be considered fully waterproof since it doesn't have taped waterproof zippers. However, it comes with a waterproof cover that will encase the bag in extreme conditions, so it should offer pretty decent protection from the elements.

How upright these will stay once loaded? I'm worried about requiring an additional install. I'm hoping with the outer top straps it will pull in tight enough to not require a frame and keep it from bowing inward. Going on a Bolt R-Spec.
These Saddlebags have multiple points to make them sit straight and as upright as possible. Note the loops on the front of the bags which can be fastened to the frame of the bike. This will take some attention to achieve based on the type of motorcycle you are mounting this on to. Be aware of how tight you have it mounted verses the suspension to allow proper movement and avoid any of the issues you have mentioned.
