Description
Replacement shields for ECE R22.05 Gringo S helmets are injection molded with highly scratch- and impact-resistant polycarbonate thermoplastic. These shields fit all ECE R22.05 and earlier Gringo S models because they ship with an all-new baseplate kit. These baseplates have an improved mechanism that results in firmer detents for three open positions. Anti-fog treatment included for maximum optical clarity.
Note: All Gen 2 Biltwell shields include Gen 2 style baseplates to swap if your helmet has Gen 1 style baseplates.

Very, very fragile
I bought the mirrored chrome bubble shield to replace a 3-year old regular clear shield that had started to get scratched. The bubble shield looks really cool and installation onto my helmet was pretty easy.
However, within the very first day, I noticed a small dot on the shield - upon further inspection it was a chip. I've been extremely careful with avoiding touching the shield but after a few months there are chips, scratches and small bits of the mirrored coating that have flaked off. I love the look of the shield, and I'll keep using it but the shield is super fragile and for the price, I was hoping it would be more durable. It's already twice as scratched as my old regular shield.
