Bridgestone Tires for 2010 Suzuki VStrom 650 ABS
I'm like most Adventure Tour bike drivers and spend 98% of the time on asphalt. For 6 months a year I commute to work on my Wee-Strom. I wanted a set of tires that performed well and were quite on the road. Ended up researching the forums and online web pages (lots of "opinions" to sort through). Also talked to a local Motor Cycle rental shop here in Vancouver. They use the Bridgestone BW 501 & 502 tires and have had a positive experience. The tires handle well, last a long time & are quite when driving. There are some good YouTube video comparisons available. Very happy with both tires. The only glitch I ran into is the front tire BW 501 is tubeless and the rear BW 502 is tubed ($25 for a tube). No worries having a mixed set (confirmed with a couple of tire shops). FortNine has great prices as well. It was awesome to be able to buy in Canada cheaper than in the States!

Great performer
This was original equipment on my 2011 G650GS and I am so impressed by its performance I keep coming back to it for replacement . I get between 24 to 26 k out of a set, although the front could go a liitle further . I ride in the rain a lot and it always inspires confidence. Excellent grip in the corners. It handles gravel well but not suited for offroading.

Bridgestone BW-502
I put 26000 kms on this tire and still had a little tread left when I replaced it. Good tire in dry and wet conditions.

Just what my bike needed
I bought the BW-502s from my 2003 VStrom DL1000. My wife and I double, loaded with gear for camping, etc. We did some serious off-roading on one of our trips, ripping up washed-out climbs and nasty gullies. The tire performed very well. It's also a great tire on the highway, not too noisy and maneuvers well. Even with all the weight on the bike we got over 10000 kms on them. I'm writing this review because I'm looking to reorder these tires.

Good Tires
This is my second set of BW501/502 tires. The first set lasted 28000 kms, including 16000 kms to the west coast and back. No problems on wet or dry pavement. I rarely ride off paved roads so can't really make an informed comment on dirt or gravel capabilities. They are smooth and quiet when new, but get a little noisy and vibrate a little after about 15000 kms.

Predictable performance, great value
They have performed as expected on dry and wet pavement and gravel. Good value, even with GST the cost was nearly $45 less from Canada's Motorcycle than buying the same tires online from the US, plus I didn't have to cross the border to pick them up and wonder if they would charge duty when I crossed back into Canada.

Huge improvement
Bought these tires for my V Strom, the tires I had were still OEM and getting old. The new tires are so much better. Lean very nicely and practicably. Due to our super dry spring I've not had them in the rain, but they're 100% what I read in my research, so I'
m trusting the rain will be no issue any longer.

Questions
What is the difference between the bw502 150r17 E , G , and J tires ?
Hi Larry,
This is designating the exact OEM replacement for a certain bike:
G BMW F650GS 2009
J Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom 2014
E Yamaha Super Tenere 2012-2014

Also - are the no-type/spec options for front and rear Tubeless?
Yes, these are tubeless tires.

I have a 2012 R1200GS "Type B" is supposed to be the OEM replacement. Does this matter (since you do not have the type B), or can I buy the generic no-type option?
It doesn't really matter, you may buy the no-option tire.

Dear F9 There are mixed comments about this tire and wanted to make sure... Is the 501 and 502 tubeless tires? Looking to buy a set of these for the Wee and want to verify this is a tubeless tire.
Yes, they are tubeless tires.

Confused with the tire grading for the BW- 501/502, is the E, G, and J SPEC the speed rating? I understand the 'spec' matches OEM replacement but I am considering these for my BMW R1150GSA.
Found it elsewhere
BW502 type / Speed Rating / Tread Width / Tread Depth / Approved Rim Size
G / 69V / 6.1 / 9 / 3.50-4.50
E / 69V / 6.1 / 10 / 3.50-4.50
J / 69H / 6.1 / 9 / 3.50-4.50
