Powerful, but dangerous
So I've been using this for a while with the guardian cover. I'm really happy with the power of this alarm, I'm sure I could hear it in my room in the top floor of my apartment.
The only problem I have with it is setting it up. I feel like I'm installing a claymore mine every time I use it. You have to arm it BEFORE putting on the cover, that means the lanyard can get stuck somewhere on the bike without you noticing and effectively trigger it. You absolutely don't want to trigger this by accident at night (Ask me how I know) The Oxford alarm disk lock is a kitten in comparison.
Now if you do trigger the alarm, it is a real pain in the a** to stop it, and it's LOUD. (This is a good thing) A thief would have to destroy the unit to stop it. Else you have to remove the cover, find the pocket in all the folds, find the opening of the pocket to remove the box, find the lanyard that detached from the unit, it could be anywhere from inside your bike to on the floor, or even hidden somewhere in the folds of the cover., then carefully put back the pin in. A thief would need balls of steel to stay there, keep calm and do all this quickly. By then you'll be fully awake, with your baseball bat, trust me.
I haven't found a way to install and remove the cover with the alarm in it without having the device ready to make you deaf if you make a mistake, if there is and I missed it, it's worth 5 stars.
Get two of them, one decoy and one harder to reach, leave a crack in your window if you're really afraid and you'll sleep in peace. (Still, get a chain and lock)
