Rated 5 out of 5 by from Drag Specialties Speedo/Tach MFR. # 2210-0332 1998 FLSTF Fat Boy plug an play, 2 years 70,000km. works perfect, seems to be accurate no speeding tickets, must start from 0 odometer reading, using original dash indicator lights, looks real nice. could not find OEM Harley Speedo/Tach. too keep original odometer reading, sad about that.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks like factory, but has issues… I recently installed this on my 1997 Heritage Classic, to give me a tach. for tuning purposes and to maintain the classic dash look without cluttering the bike with multiple separate gauges & mounts. The first annoyance is that you must separately purchase the adapter harness, approx. $70, and a tachometer signal kit for another $10. After the long, tedious job of rerouting wiring and finding places under the gauge cluster to tuck the huge, bulky harness, it looks great, like it was made for the bike, but… 1.) You can’t reprogram your original odometer readings to the new speedometer: you start at “0” Km 2.) After performing the reset procedure in manual five times, which didn’t work, I find that compared to two separate cell phone GPS speed Apps, the speedometer reads approximately 9-10kph slower than actual GPS speed meaning that using the D.S. Speedometer to control speed results in aa actual speed up to 10kph FASTER than what the needle shows— might result in speeding citation 3.) As in 2.) above, of course the odometer reading on the new speedometer is also off, by a lot. Using same GPS apps, it shows that the distance recorded in D.S. Odometer is approximately 10-12% less than on GPS, so on a 100 KM ride, the combo Speedo/Odo will only log approximately 88-90 km, so if you, like me, use trip meter mileage to estimate tank range before fill-ups, you have to be aware to fill up much earlier than on original speedometer—quite annoying 4.) The tachometer is accurate at low revs, which is perfect for setting timing, idle, checking battery/charging issues, etc. but at highway speeds, the needle bounces around so much that an accurate reading is impossible, but good enough for a “ballpark” idea what your average RPM is while cruising… All in, it looks right, but I’m not sure if I would purchase this combination speedometer/tachometer again, as it is not accurate; however, it is too much of a pain to disassemble and remove it (and I’m a master electrician by trade!), so I’ll just keep in mind that I have to drive 5-10Km under what the needle points to, if I want to avoid a speeding citation, and that I need to fill up much earlier than what my stock odometer trip distance used to display—of course, we ride Harleys, so speed limits, like noise limits, are more “guidelines, than rules…”

Does this require a secondary wiring harness as my speedo is installed with wiring instead of 'plug ins'.? 1996 Road King (carb)

          Asked by: pkrk
My 03 Heritage had a pink wire not connected to speedo, (tack wire) I simply pushed it in the new speedo. However I believe they sell the pink tach wire in case yours does not have one... You run it to your coil I believe. Speedo works and looks great
