Much thicker than the stock ones.
You have to remove the outer fairing completely. Just put a couple of old socks on the spot/driving lights and they won't scratch the fairing. First remove the windshield and then the 4 lower bolts. 2 up by the speakers and 2 under the lower triple tree. Lift up the outer fairing, unplug the headlight and work it up and past the spot/driving lights. Once the outer fairing is off, just unbolt the old bracket and install the new ones. These brackets are of a much heavier gauge and handle the fairing vibration. While you are in there have a look at the wiring for any bad spots etc.
