- NOTE: When this gas tank is installed on 92 and later models and the Original Equipment continuous venting system is eliminated or disconnected, you may not reuse your stock vented cap, but may replace it with an earlier version of the screw-type caps
- NOTE: 86-94 tanks have petcocks on the right side, 95-03 tanks have petcock on left side
Note: Tank is sold as a raw finish, which may contain imperfections and will require painting. Pressure testing and fitting is recommended prior to painting.

Tank Tunnel Did Not Fit
Purchased tank for a 2001 XL1200C. HD's OEM tank has a recessed area in the tank tunnel to accommodate the wiring harness that is pinned to the frame. This DRAG Spec. tank did not have this feature. There is no simple way to maneuver the harness out of the way which is why HD had a 1/2" wide recess, 1" high and 6-8" long indentation stamped right into the tank. You would have to cut the harness but good luck relocating it to a safe location.
