Relay worked great!
I was experiencing 'the click of doom', on my '91 Softail Custom. Rectifiers do tend to die after 34 years.
This affordable part took three minutes to install, and I've not had the problem since! Awesome!

I used this relay to power a starter on an 850 Commando when I installed the Alton starter kit on a 1974 850. You have to remeber that the body of this relay is ground, I ran a ground wire to the mounting bolts to make sure. there are 2 terminals on it other than the big ones for the heavy cables. One of these terminals (the thicker one) is the feed for the windings, the other one is connected to power only when the relay is activated.This to send 12 volts to your coils when the starter is activated to bypass the ballast resistor if you use 6 volt coils, otherwise you won't use it. This relay is an exact replacement for the relay on the MkIII Commando and fits on the stock bracket in the stock location.
