I love this !
My last Dyna S was at least ten years when it gave up the ghost. I went back to points ignition, but, was spending too much time tuning it. So I bought another Dyna S. It is so easy to install and to set the timing. Now I can spend more time riding.

Questions
is this system single fire and will it fit a 1978
yes it with work on your 78.i highly recommend it infact you can buy a single fire dual pickup plate or a dual fire single pickup plate the difference is in the coils you will need to change to two individual single plug coils for the single fire plate and you should be able to use the stock coil for the dual fire plate. if the motor is stock or close to stock thats the way i would go myself personally way easier and cheaper to deal with in the long run. and by the way dynatek products are amazing and pretty near bullet and idiot proof and have been in business for well over 25 years.you have to really do something stupid to screw them up. i still am using my original dyna 111 plate from 1991 in my hotrod 74 z1-900 that i built in 1994 with no failures and its always a first kick bike. i use dyna products in all my drag bikes ,my hotrod kawi's and my carburated harleys. infact im just ordering one for my latest one an 82 fxr
