                  Description

The Baseframe Pro Short Sleeve is a breathable baselayer with built in guards on the shoulder. It's designed to be worn under your jersey for low-profile coverage. It includes a removeable back insert, increasing your impact protection, while the fabric wicks away sweat as you ride and keeps you cool. The Baseframe Pro will fit snug and secure—the polymer softens to conform to your body as it is warmed by your own heat—offering minimal restrictions and maximum benefit. The more you ride, the better it feels.

                  Features:

                  • Exceeds EN1621-1 level 1 back certification including high and low temperature conditions
                  • Removable CE certified D3O® Viper™ back insert features world leading impact protection technology

                  • Body heat activates (softens) the polymer to conform to body
                  • Moisture wicking, open stretch mesh for breathability

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect for trail riding I really like this armor. It's light and breathable enough that I really never have an excuse not to wear it when I go out for a ride. I originally planned to wear this without the chest protector, but the chest protector breathes well enough that I never took it out. The D3O pads are all super flexible so they conform to the body and stay out of your way. The only exception is the chest protector which can flop around a bit when I extend my arms forward. The only part of this that's visible under a jersey is the chest protector, so you can still get spine and shoulder protection from this if you're embarrassed about wearing armor. In terms of protection, this is alright. - The shoulder pads are as good as you'd ever need for MTB. - The spine protector is CE rated and stays in place pretty well, but it's relatively thin. I think it'll be fine for most things you'll see while trail biking, but I wouldn't trust this to take a high speed crash into rocks. - The chest protector doesn't offer much protection. It's certainly better than nothing, but it doesn't always make good contact with your chest while riding and it doesn't seem to be CE rated. I've seen some reviews say that the shirt is hard to remove when you're sweaty. The D3O pads flex so easily that I don't find it to be a problem at all.
