Description
The V1 Morphic Helmet is one of the most competitive, versatile, entry-level moto helmets on the market. Saved me from brain damage
I had a major crash on my dirt bike, I was going about 120kph. I broke my arm and had a major concussion. I was unconscious for about 30 minutes and then in and out of concussion for another 2 hours. I fully believe this helmet with the MIPS system saved me from getting brain damage. I’ve purchased this helmet again to replace the I was wearing in the crash. I highly recommend this helmet 👍.

MIPS design flaw
Firstly, this is the 8th Fox V1 helmet I’ve bought so obviously I’m a big fan of Fox helmets. I’ve never had any complaints with my previous versions but this one seems to have a design flaw or lack the build quality of the previous versions. It is noticeably lighter than previous versions which i really like. It’s about the same weight as my friend’s $1000 carbon helmet and it meets the same DOT specification so it’s amazing value from that perspective. The issue I have relates to the MIPS system. I remove the liner from my helmets and wash them after every ride. The first time I removed the liner out of this helmet the small rubber tabs holding the MIPS liner to the shell ripped out too. Some of the tabs tore and some just popped off. The rubber tabs are tiny and pathetic compared to the burly rubber tabs on any other MIPS helmet I’ve owned. Perhaps it allows the MIPS system to be more effective in a crash but I doubt it. After a lot of fiddling and cursing, I was able to reconnect the 2 rubber tabs that hadn’t torn but they’re not enough for the helmet liner to stay in place. So now I am constantly adjusting the position of the helmet on my head because the liner and the shell are not attached to each other. I think I still have the protection I need in the event of a crash but the liner slopping around in the shell is really annoying.

Great helmet
I bought this helmet for my wife and a Leatt Moto 3.5 for myself. Both are great helmets. This helmet has more padding in the cheeks, which doesn't bother me, but it is certainly a difference between the two. I also installed XPG X10 coms in both helmets. I had enough room in the ear area of the Leatt to do the install without modifying the helmet. The Fox helmet, however, required me to carve out some of the material in the ear area. Just something to keep in mind if you are planning such an install.
