Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great protection, great fit ! If you’re looking for a waterproof boot, look elsewhere, these are protective boots. I had a pair of Alpinestars Toucan Goretex that I loved but the boot just cracked on me after 3 seasons (30 000km per season). I was looking for something with much better protection than the Toucan (they are walking worthy but very soft, could even feel the pegs after a while). I ride my Super Ténéré quite hard, need the protection if that beast decides to bite back ! As soon as I slid my foot in the Gaerne Fastback Enduro, I knew they were the ones I was looking for all these years. Great comfort for my large foot (true to size, consult the company’s fit guide). Great sole stiffness and a bit more flex than full on motocross boot. Definitely has the torsion protection that the Toucan was lacking. 4 buckles, higher than the Toucan. All day comfort for 600-800km rides. Wear waterproof socks and you’re ready for everything ! Carefull, only the brown and black has the enduro sole. Color pattern is a bit bling bling at first, better when dirty !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is an initial Review before actually riding with them. Fit My foot length is 10.75" (27.305cm) from the back of the heel to the end of my toe. I wear a size 10US shoe and a Size 9.5US work Boot (Redwings). According to a quote from Gaerne they say their boots fit 1/2 size larger than normal US Sizing. I Purchased these in size 9US (43 Euro). These fit my foot very well, with a normal cotton sock and, with the lowest buckle done up snug, my foot is secure with no space around it but I can wiggle my toes comfortably, if I loosen the buckle a notch or 2 I get more space for my whole foot for more comfort or to wear thicker socks. There is between 1/4" to 1/2" of space between the end of my toes and the end of the toe box which I consider perfect for comfort and to reduce blister potential or toe pain from contact with rocks. The buckle system is very good and I don't see these being an issue to open or close even when caked in mud. The sole of the boot has excellent tread and the compound has a quality feel to the rubber, like an expensive tire. Protection is very good with stiffness in all the right spots to prevent crush and impact injury. Sound of the boots while walking is minimal with just minor flex sounds from the leather on plastic, they do not have an annoying squeak like some brands. Walking in these boots does feel tiring but its not terrible, they have enough flex and the ankle pivots provide just enough motion for some comfort but still maintains rigidity to prevent you foot from flexing too far in either direction. If I were to hike around a bit I would loosen the buckles for a but more room to move. Although very comfortable brand new, once these boots get properly broke in to my foot I expect them to be very comfortable and even easier to walk around in. These boots are not waterproof but its nothing a pair of quality waterproof socks or liners cant fix. Overall I would say these have the perfect balance of practical protection, style and performance, Highly recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent boots, very comfortable! I've had these boots for an entire riding season and can't recommend them enough. I came from Astars Tech 3s and these are night and day better. The other boots felt like they'd dig in and at the same time had very little support. I haven't tried the SG-12 but I like these so much that I don't see the need to. Granted, I'm a casual rider so maybe the more expensive boots would last longer but these have very little wear after one season and I'm sure they'll last me several more. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent protection and build quality Purchased these boots for adv riding. Looking for an in between for road touring and plenty of offroad protection. Build quality is excellent, buckles are solid and very easy to use. Hinge on the ankle makes shifting and breaking easy while giving motocross boot protection and the ability to walk without feeling like I'm in ski boots. Very happy with the purchase and price for quality is the best I've seen.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Boot Size is not per north america standards. I wear size 9-1/2 shoes so I ordered a size 10. The boots are more like a size 11 and they fit me loose. I have wide feet and this boot is fine on that matter. Some people said the top clip is hard to attach if you have large calf but boots have relocation tabs for larger calf and that is a nice plus. Boot is flexible enough for my road/trail rides and are made in Italy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made boots! Have only had one short ride with the boots on. Fit and quality is excellent. The sole is very stiff and toe box barely fits under shifter with the lack of mobility flexing ankle. I am sure they will be awesome once broken in. Overall super happy with the boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did not used them yet but want to comment on size Happy with purchase so far, did not ride with the boots yet, still winter... Did order size 10 since I am a 9-1/2 shoe size but you must consider the fact that these boots size appear to be per UK sizes. The boot tag show size USA 10 & EURO 44-1/2. But Euro size 44-1/2 should be UK size 10 and US size 10.5. So for now I am a little loose in the boots hoping it will not get worse after a few riding hours. I also have wide feet and I feel no side pressure while waking around in the house. That alone is a big keeper for me.

                  Questions

How do these boots fit? I wear a 10.5 sneaker - US sizing. The grapevine says to drop down a half size for fitting on this brand. Can you comment as to the proper sizing for my foot size.

                  Asked by: Tim K
The foot box is spacious (wide and tall), which may make them feel like they fit larger to some, but the length seems true to size.

Does the black come with the enduro sole?

Enduro edition comes with enduro sole. The regular MX version does not.
