Bright screen
Trip planning is easy. Loaded Apps are handy. Yet to try to import routes from Google. But have used Four Square a d thats a snap.

The best GPS I ever owned
Works as described, bright screen in full sun lite and waterproof, ran all day on my bike in heavy rain with no issues. This is my second XT I purchased for my wife's bike and snowmobile, pricy but you get what you paid for. Also works very well at -25c.

Questions
How do I upload gpx files from iPhone to this gps and vice versa? Can I sync the gps with an app on my phone? What is the compatibility with Gaia?
Garmin has a Support Center article called Importing and Sending GPX Files onto a zūmo XT GPS Navigator which goes over the ways you can get GPX files into a Zumo XT.

You could use the Garmin Explore Website, Garmin Explore App, use a computer with Garmin Basecamp, use the Garmin Drive App, or just use your computer to copy/paste the file into the GPX folder on the zumo XT.
