Well worth the money
I just bought this rack kit and am glad I did. It is well-engineered, includes all the necessary hardware, and the rails as installed do a good job of following the lines of the fifth-gen VFR, are solidly attached to the bike, and fit without contacting the bodywork.
Installation requires removing the rear bodywork to install two reinforcing plates, but once those are on, you could take the main rails off in a few minutes, if you wanted to switch back to the stock grab handles or the seat cowl.
The kit replaces the stock passenger “horn” handles, but as you can see in the photos, it now includes very nice grab handles.
The instructions are detailed and include plenty of photos. Be sure to look them over carefully: all the info you need about what hardware goes where is there, but There’s a lot of turning the page back and forth to see which piece of hardware goes where, and it’s easy to make some subtle mistakes.
I haven’t mounted a trunk yet, but the mount points are solid.
I worried this kit was a lot of money for what it was, but it’s the opposite: this is a thoroughly engineered (almost stylish!) hardware kit that in retrospect looks like a bargain.

Better than one in photo
They sent me the Givi rack with the handles. The photo in the description didn't have the handles. Fortnine has Fast service, best price on internet for top of the line product. Thank you.
