Effective solution
I had this put on late in the season, so didn't have as much experience with it on dirt/gravel or soft asphalt as I expected to. While it makes me feel more comfortable about putting down my narrow kick stand, it does cause some problems if the bike isn't already slanting to that side. It increased the length of the kick stand and pushed the bike slightly more to upright. It also required a special tool to install, that I didn't have, so I took it with the bike to a mechanic.
