          Description

          A true 50/50 dual sport tire, the K60 Scout brings a proven balance of performance on and off-road. With an improved tread and compound, the Scout delivers better cornering stability and wet weather grip on the pavement, while delivering off-road as well. The K60 Scout combines the traction of an Enduro tire with the mileage capability of a street tire.

          The chevron style tread pattern is similar to full knobby designs which provides lots of open space between the tread blocks to route sand, mud and water from the contact patch while constantly keeping some rubber in contact with the road as the tire rotates. This tire is a stand-out as it does not sacrifice on-road longevity and adhesion to the pavement for off-road traction. A difficult feat for any tire to accomplish.

          Heidenau's compound uses a high natural rubber content, and there's a lot on there. This naturally resilient compound, combined with sturdy Belted construction, makes for one of the most trusted, longest lasting tires available to long distance travelers.

          Most asked question, why do different sizes look different? A new compound created new challenges in design. Heidenau took the opportunity at the inception of the Scout, to tailor the design to best suit the application. Incorporating feedback from customers and countless miles of testing, this resulted in tires looking different for the different bikes, but insuring the best performance.

          Found in most common Enduro sizes for most manufactures as either a K60 or a K60 Scout. Every Scout is a K60, Not every K60 is a scout. If your rim requires an inner tube, a quality inner tube can be safely used with any K60 Scout.

          K60 Scout Tread Patterns

          Note: MS = All-Season Tires with Mud and Snow Designation. If a tire has MS, M+S, M/S or M&S on it, then it meets the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) guidelines for a mud and snow tire. CCC is Heidenau's Cold Compound and RSA is their High Milage compound.

          Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tires Have 6000kms on rear and still lots of tread to go. I run K60 front and rear on my 2014 KLR 650 and will replace with another set when these finally run out, great on and off road traction. They work very well in the rain on pavement too.

          Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid tires with excellent life This is my 3rd K60 rear and 2nd K60 front on this order. I have gotten more than 20,000km out of both rears and got 40,000km out of the front. The wear on the front was minimal but the rubber was cracking. They're not the best on road or off road tire but they are a solid compromise and will work adequately in either environment.

I do a mixture of road and gravel and would recommend this tire. For traction ( except for in wet muddy slick but then nothing is that good ) and longevity

          Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tires 12,000 road kms across Canada and 1,000 dirt highway kms in the Yukon. Back tire needs replacing but front has 1-2,000 kms of tread left. Handled well in rain, and temperature range (-5 to 35 Celsius). Rear tread went down faster after the dirt highway but very happy with this product.

          Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great profile dirt/road, long lasting... maybe R1250GSA, as most reviews this appears to be a long lasting tire, you can cut the 20000km claim in a little more than half in you are heavy on the throttle; 8000 km and 4mill left in the middle, see pic. Cornering is impressive for the thread pattern. Tends to slide and spin on wet pavement and med-heavy throttle. Does pretty good in dirt. I am no expert though but it gives me enough confidence to get stuck in loose sand. Looks amazing on my bike and will likely buy again knowing it has the potential to last a long time. Who knows maybe it’ll train me to be more conservative. In comparison my Anekee adventure had no measurable threads left in the middle at 7000km Mounted the K60 on the rim myself or rather my son and I, first time doing so, I’ll do it again. I bit hard but well worth it $$

          Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tire, but rears burn off in under 7,000km Ordered a set of these Front&Rear Thursday @3:00pm arrived Monday at my door in Ontario! Looking forward to mounting these so I can get the front row parking at work!!! (it's a crazy long walk otherwise) Plus riding the rail trail on a direct 45* angle from home to work saves about 8 minutes commute time each way! No cars either!!!! I've run the K60's before on my KLR650 130/80-17 doesn't get huge mileage but it's the pattern without the center strip and I've got an aggressive throttle hand, bike has a big bore kit and air/fuel sensor tuned. And I'm about 360lb! I'm not great at tracking mileage but around ~6,000km give or take a bit. I ordered the TT rather than the MS type this time. Possibly not being a snow rated tire it might hold up a little longer. (plus it's significantly cheaper!) The 90/90 MS front tire I have has outlasted about 4 different rear tires (various types) by the end of last season it's getting thin and the corners of the outside treads are tearing/lifting. It's several years old now. Great tires for mixed riding on gravel road, fairly packed and loose trails, pavement and pretty decent in the corners too!

          Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievable longevity Second one I've had on my 800GS. Got 27,000km out of the first one. Very stiff side wall. Make sure to pick a hot day, and leave it in the sun, if you're going to spoon it on yourself.

          I understand there have been some tread pattern revisions. Does the 150 have a continuous center strip? Does the 140/18?

          Why does the MS is more expensive than MS/RSA? When RSA has high mileage, does this mean MS has better performance and MS/RSA has less but better mileage?

          What is the difference between 130/80-17 and 5.10-17? The sizing charts show these as the same size.

          There is no difference.  One is just listed in metric for the width 130 mm and sidewall depth 80 mm and the other is just the width in inches 5.10.  They both indicate inches for the wheel diameter 17.  Why the sizing charts show a difference I do not know but I think the 5.10 /17 is an earlier form for indicating size.
