Rated 5 out of 5 by from Safety first It's heavier than I thought, but i hardly remember I have it on fit-wise. I am 5'11 240lbs and the XXL is perfect. I keep hopping off the bike forgetting it's tied down, but it hasn't popped yet. Safety wise, I feel 100% more confident on the hiway and in city traffic. Drivers are getting harder to predict lately and my nerves were over riding my joy .. not anymore. Cost as much as a new exhaust, but worth so much more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits well, looks good, easy to reset. This is a comfortable vest and fits over my other riding gear both comfortably and easily. Once you've decided where you want to connect your tether to the bike, connecting and disconnecting the tether from the vest itself is a breeze. You just have to remember to do it, and I'm sure I will get into the habit soon enough. I will admit that I was a doofus and accidentally set this off just a week after receiving it - completely my fault and not a technical or other issue. Resetting it by following the steps in the manual took all of two minutes, and now I know how to do it - if I need to reset it again, I'm confident it'll take far less. I see two key benefits of this mechanical version over electronic versions. Firstly, when I did need to reset it, I was able to do it myself, at home and the only cost was a new CO2 cartridge. The fact I already had a spare cartridge meant I was only without the protection of this jacket as I rode home from where I set it off. From what I understand, electronic vests need to be returned to the manufacturer to be reset, meaning you're without the jacket for much longer, AND there is the cost of recharge - from what I've seen, hundreds of dollars. Secondly, there's the battery life. Electronic vests need to have a full battery, which means you either have to constantly be charging them or make sure you charge them very frequently so that they're ready to go when you want to go for a ride. No need to worry about that with the Helite Turtle 2. I have it hanging in my closet right next to my other gear, and I know that when I want to go for a ride, it will be ready to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Great product. I trust a mechanical tether over algorithms and changing out the cartridge is quick and easy and cheaper than having to send the entire vest to the manufacturer. Proper fitment is confusing as Helite U.S. suggests measuring with gear on whereas Helite Canada suggests measuring with a thin T-shirt on. The size charts are slightly different and measuring on one chart you may fall into one size category while measuring with the other chart you may fall into a different size category.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Feel safer using this product Been using this for about a month. Its a little heavy at first but once you're riding you dont notice it much. Helps me feel safer while riding. The price was quite expensive but I figure its just the cost of a safer riding experience. Kinda like an extra insurance policy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems good so far The vest fits quite large around the middle. Had to return it for a large instead (for reference, 185 lbs, 6 feet tall). Looks great over a black jacket, barely notice it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You wouldn’t even know it’s there… … until you need it. The black vest blends in perfectly with my black jacket and is pretty much unnoticeable. Love how sleek it is and I get questions about it everywhere I go. Once you see videos of people walking away from devastating crashes, this thing is a no brainer. Yes it’s expensive but this isn’t clothing, it’s an insurance policy - and way cheaper than the insurance I buy for my bike each year!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Banana Suit Statistically I will never need it, statistically I am safer. Excellent product, very pricey but worth it, if you are thinking about it you should probably get it. I was worried that I would buy it but never wear it but I do, its not a hastle to put on and not heavier than my mesh jacket. I find it more comfortable to wear this and remove my stock back protector. I have gone "off road" in this and it doesn't do much in minor crashes, arms and legs usually take those injuries. It won't inflate unless you are departing the bike but with the roads and trucks being as crazy as they are where I live I don't go without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 10/10 purchase Had a crash where I high sided going 30 and the vest worked fantastic. It was fully inflated before I fully left the bike and other than a bit of road rash just below where the vest covers I was perfectly fine after landing on it. Definitely worth the purchase

Should I wear this on top of a normal jacket (that has protection) or without it? I have a Olympia Dallas Mesh just. Will that interfere with the airbag when it gets deployed?

                  Asked by: Mohammad
It's like a big vest and fits fine over my regular riding jacket. I remove my jacket backbrace because the helite IS a back brace. If delpoyed it puffs up a lot, under you jacket would restrict what it is meant to do and probably be a bit crushing

I'd like to know the recommended fitment of these vests. That is, the measured dimensions of the interior.

Is it possible to wear it above Leatt 5.5 Body Protector or it will be to much and create possible injury if it's inflate on top of the back and chest protector of the Leatt 5.5. Thank you.

                  Asked by: Enduro400
You can wear it over whatever you would like, just not underneath.

                  Asked by: Scrambled
Not an option. Wouldn't have enough room to expand.
