Good helmet with even better price tag
I was on the market for a decent dual sport helmet and after a long research I decided to buy DS-X1. After a week of riding with it, I'm pleasantly surprised how good this helmet really is.
Pros:
Wide field of view
Great fit and finish
Feels pretty light although it weights 1700gr
Decent venting
Pretty quiet for dual sport helmet
Interior lining is nice and comfortable
Cons:
Faceshield is fogging up quite easily (get the pinlock insert)
Sun peak doesn't go down far enough
I think DS-X1 runs a half size smaller. I'm medium in all HJC size charts but ordered large and I can't be happier.

Great at higher speeds, visor fogs easily
Bought this to replace a Fly Trekker.
It's lighter and much quieter than the Trekker, doesn't catch wind anywhere near as much. Very comfortable and accommodates sunglasses easily.
However, it DOES fog up easily, even with all vents open. Not sure if a pinlock insert is available yet.
Overall a solid helmet for the price and very well built and light. The peak design allows you to move your head around without feeling like it's going to snap your neck off at highway speeds.

Just what I was after.
I've been riding with an open face but started worrying about sliding down the road on my face. I'm using it with the visor up but with sunglasses and the visor is used in the rain. Now for the good: It fits like any other HJC which fits me perfect. Very nicely finished. Nice big opening and the visor fits great. Good air flow through the chin bar but the upper vents are only fair. Now the not so good: Depending on the wind direction the visor can vibrate. The visor stock sits too high to be of any use to shield your eyes form the sun so I lengthened the adjustment slit on the top. This made the visor usable and made it vibrate less. The bottom line is, Yes I would buy this helmet again.

Nice helmet but too small
I really wanted this to work out. I usually wear a size large. I ordered this in XL based on the sizing chart but it was still too small. Helmet is very nice quality for the price. HJC must have changed the head shape for this helmet. I will be looking at different brands. Fortnine is great to deal with for easy returns - Thanks

Decent helmet with some drawbacks...
I bought this DS-X1 in medium along with the Pinlock visor (many reviews stated fogging issues) and it arrived quickly. I measured my head before ordering and the medium was tight but not unbearably so. The comfort is OK, not as good as the two Scorpion helmets I have owned in the last 5 years. The neck strap seems to be closer to my neck than previous helmets so you can't do it up too snugly without choking yourself. The visor is very clear optically but fogs up worse than any helmet I have ever had. First ride was without it and every stop, I had to open the visor. This was in 13-15 degree dry weather. For my next ride I installed the Pinlock and it works well. It still fogs up on the other areas of the visor, but out of your sightline. The visor also is too stiff to open when in the closed position. After opening the visor, I have to adjust my helmet back down onto my head. The last negative point is no sun visor - I knew this going in, but having to squeeze sunglasses in and not having the option of instant sunshade or not, made me realize this helmet is not for me. I bought this helmet because I wanted something that would be good offroad and so I didn't abuse my Scorpion AT950 too much with dust clogging up the hinges which may be fine, but I really should have just bought another Scorpion AT950 and keep my older one for offroad. The modular feature of the Scorpion seals the deal..

best ADV lid for under $500
I have been using this helmet for a summer and a half and have absolutely loved it. Easily the quietest helmet I have rode with. No pressure points, amazing visibility, wide enough face for goggles. Only complaint would be the weight and maybe the ventilation at low speeds with the shield down. But the only helmet I would consider besides this one would be an Arai XD4.

Good value for starter helmet
Comfy, fits nice. Only complaint would be visor can fog but they appear to have other anti fog visors available for purchase!

Does this helmet come with a breath box?
No breath box. It is one of the worst helmets I have had for fogging up! Nice wide view, and good off road. More noisy than my Nolan on road, with or without the visor.
