Description
The DS-X1 is designed for both street and off-road riding. This dual-sport helmet is composed of the Advanced Polycarbonate Composite Shell to provide a lightweight helmet, with superior fit and comfort using advanced CAD technology. The large eye port can be worn with the Pinlock-prepared shield, or with goggles for an off-road style. The visor has large ports for airflow to minimize lift in high speeds and can be removed for a full-face style. This design features the Glasses Groove to accommodate riders who wear glasses.

Good helmet with even better price tag
I was on the market for a decent dual sport helmet and after a long research I decided to buy DS-X1. After a week of riding with it, I'm pleasantly surprised how good this helmet really is.
Pros:
Wide field of view
Great fit and finish
Feels pretty light although it weights 1700gr
Decent venting
Pretty quiet for dual sport helmet
Interior lining is nice and comfortable
Cons:
Faceshield is fogging up quite easily (get the pinlock insert)
Sun peak doesn't go down far enough
I think DS-X1 runs a half size smaller. I'm medium in all HJC size charts but ordered large and I can't be happier.

Great at higher speeds, visor fogs easily
Bought this to replace a Fly Trekker.
It's lighter and much quieter than the Trekker, doesn't catch wind anywhere near as much. Very comfortable and accommodates sunglasses easily.
However, it DOES fog up easily, even with all vents open. Not sure if a pinlock insert is available yet.
Overall a solid helmet for the price and very well built and light. The peak design allows you to move your head around without feeling like it's going to snap your neck off at highway speeds.

Quite and great view
First helmet that actually is able to ride 100 km to the trail and then 60 km of trail then 100 km back. Warm in morning well vented for offrode afternoon. Love it

Just what I was after.
I've been riding with an open face but started worrying about sliding down the road on my face. I'm using it with the visor up but with sunglasses and the visor is used in the rain. Now for the good: It fits like any other HJC which fits me perfect. Very nicely finished. Nice big opening and the visor fits great. Good air flow through the chin bar but the upper vents are only fair. Now the not so good: Depending on the wind direction the visor can vibrate. The visor stock sits too high to be of any use to shield your eyes form the sun so I lengthened the adjustment slit on the top. This made the visor usable and made it vibrate less. The bottom line is, Yes I would buy this helmet again.

Casque de base à bon prix
Normalement je prends du medium mais celui-ci était vraiment trop petit. Pour avoir un peu d'air lors de grandes chaleurs, j'aime ouvrir la visière un tout petit peu mais celle-ci s'ouvre trop grand et le rebord arrive à la hauteur des yeux, ce qui nuit grandement à la visibilité. Je ne l'ai pas essayé sur la route.

Pour le prix, c'est un indispensable.
J'ai acheté ce casque pour aller travailler, incluant dans les journées chaudes ou je porterai des lunettes de motocross. Tout d'abord, ce casque est vraiment bien fait. La coquille ne laisse pas une impression plastique pas cher. Les trous de ventilation sont fait solides. Le casque est bien ajusté, sans donner de point de pression a la mâchoire ou au front. Le tissu intérieur n'est pas le polyester régulier mais un tissu doux et respirant. Je dois porter des lunettes de correction de vue: mes grosses lunettes de soleil avec correction (et elles sont larges!) s'y glissent sans problème! Encore mieux: les lunettes de motocross (ou de ski) font parfaitement avec le casque et nul besoin d'enlever la visière. J'ai des Oakley O2 XL qui sont larges. La visière est solide, le mécanisme l'est aussi. La ganse qui passe sous le menton ne vous entre pas dans la gorge. Dans l'ensemble, un casque solide, bien fait et qui vaut bien plus que les 200 quelques dollars. Seul côté négatif est que je n'aime pas le design du casque vis a vis le menton. C'est lourd et massif pour rien. Le modèle Lander en noir et gris est ultra réfléchissant et parfait pour rouler sur l'autoroute avant que le soleil ne se lève... et attirer le regard des automobilistes.

Un casque excellent!
J’ai acheté ce casque afin de réduire le bruit du vent et wow! Bien insonorisé, excellent champ de vision et bien ventilé. Embue légèrement lors de temps plus froid et est serré au début mais se moule à la tête très rapidement. Excellent casque double usage.

Nice helmet but too small
I really wanted this to work out. I usually wear a size large. I ordered this in XL based on the sizing chart but it was still too small. Helmet is very nice quality for the price. HJC must have changed the head shape for this helmet. I will be looking at different brands. Fortnine is great to deal with for easy returns - Thanks

Does this helmet come with a breath box?
No breath box. It is one of the worst helmets I have had for fogging up! Nice wide view, and good off road. More noisy than my Nolan on road, with or without the visor.
