Dark Smoke Visor for CL-17
This visor fits the helmet perfectly and works well. However, I don't find it dark enough on the very sunny days so I'll be buying one of the mirrored visors for next summer. My husband found this visor too dark and doesn't like it. I'm photosensitive and I'm used to wearing polarized sunglasses when driving. Hubby never wears sunglasses for anything. I think for the average person this visor shade would be completely acceptable.

Works well
I bought the light smoke version and have had a couple highway rides with it now. It works well...I don't have to necessarily wear sunglasses with it, as it tints well enough for me. Locks down nicely.

It's does what it says it does
Similar to having a good pair of sunglasses on. Cleans easily, doesn't scratch when cleaned. Not practical for night riding, bring a clear visor with you if you plan on being out after dark.

Good visibility
Ordered the dark visor for sunny days, wear eyeglasses so don't need sunglasses with this visor. Easy snap on to the helmet once you get the hang of it...line up the arrows. Does the job, really cuts glare on sunny days, however as with the stock, clear HJC visor, it does fog up on cool mornings when sitting still. Once you are moving it clears up. At traffic lights I just pop it open a crack then close it once moving and the fog disappears.

Affordable, stylish blue chrome shield
I bought the HJ-09 blue chrome shield to wear on my CL-17 Victory helmet, and I am not disappointed. It' a typical chrome shield in the way that you must be fairly careful with it, if a cyclist can be careful with something that zips through the air at 110 km/hr. It's sprayed on, not scratch resistant, so be careful setting it down, cleaning it etc. Without the pinlock insert you may get some fogging, but minor. Keep in mind it's chrome-layered, so some interior reflection is unavoidable but no worse than most sunglasses. Plus, HJC pricing is excellent. Some other company's pricing for shields can approach the cost of another helmet. This shield is an attractive, affordable accessory.

Dark Smoke looks great
Dark smoke is black and blends in with the helmet. Snapped on real fast and easy onto the hjc cl 17.
I can't see my own face in the mirror no matter how hard and long i stare.
Wish this piece of plastic wasnt so pricey.

Good value for money
I have a matte black HJC CL-17 helmet. It came with a clear visor (I have a pinlock insert in it too), and I decided that I would get a smoked visor instead of wearing sunglasses while riding. The dark smoke is perfect for sunny days; dark enough to look directly into the sun, but not so dark that it's hard to see in overcast conditions. On the matte black helmet, it looks great. You can't see into it from the outside.

Works as expected
Bought the amber one to try out on overcast/rainy days. Looks more orange than yellow, but works. Had a chance to try it on a very overcast/drizzly day and did help with contrast. As far as fogging up, buy the HJC HJ-09/HJ-17 Pinlock Anti-Fog Insert and you will not have a problem. Bought the Tourmaster Select Visor Bag as well to toss the extra shield in to protect it while in the saddlebag.

If you have the CL-17 punisher then yes. If you have the IS-Cruiser Punisher then it will not fit.

Yes, you can still use the visor as it is just "pinlock ready", but does not require the pinlock insert to function as a visor

Yes, the shield is Pinlock-ready, meaning you can install pinlock inserts on the shield. The shield still works normally without the pinlock inserts.

Is the dark smoke visor UV protected?
All shields have the same UV-A, UV-B, protection that the clear shield has. They will all offer 95% UV protection.
