Description
The i70 is a modern and sleek sport-touring helmet composed of HJC's advanced polycarbonate material. The full-face shell is noticeably more compact and lighter than its predecessor, the IS-17. The i70 features an inner, drop-down sun visor with a new, easy-to-use lever. Great entry level touring helmet!
Bought this to replace my 5 year old Bell Qualifier, and couldn't be happier. I commute daily, hit up the curvy roads on weekends and occasionally do multi day moto camping trips so I needed something that could excel in all of that at a decent price point.
In terms of design, the air vents are well thought out and move a lot of air in and out of the helmet. The visor has a really solid locking system, but I find it very hard to find the latch when riding because it is so close to the vent switch. Additionally, the visor is very stiff when lifting it.
I use a comm system, and installing it on this model was very easy and secure.
In terms of wind noise, I find it very quite compared to my old Qualifier on highway trips.
Another great feature is the built in sun visor. It is easy to use and has great coverage. An added bonus is that it doesn't cause any distortion on my LCD gauge cluster like my polarized sunglasses used to cause so I can actually see what speed I'm going now!
Only downside I've really noticed so far is the seal between the visor and the helmet isn't always perfectly tight, and causes a slight whistle from time to time. Pressing on the visor normally makes it go away. Also, HJC doesn't seem to have launched the helmet accessories at the same time as the helmet so you're out of luck if you're looking for a chin curtain or pinlock visor at this point. I tried the IS-17 chin curtain but it doesn't fit perfectly.
All in all, if you're looking for a "do anything" helmet and can't stomach the $500+ price point that is common for mid-range helmets I would 100% recommend the HJC i70.

Helmet fits well, my head measured is usually a medium, but I tried on a large in a store and it fit quite well. I ordered this one from FortNine as I wanted this particular style.
Fit: I had a Scorpion EXO R420 and it was WAY too tight. This helmet felt much more comfortable without being too big.
Noise level: I feel it's pretty quiet, however when I am out riding, I usually have my headphones in which would dampen any excessive noise. I also like to ride with the face shield up and just the sun visor down (in the urban areas, 60Km etc.) and it does whistle if you do this.
Vision: I feel this helmet is a bit restrictive when it comes to vision. With the face shield down at a stop, my breath immediately starts fogging up the visor unless I point my breath downwards. However, I feel this shouldn't be an issue with the pin-lock installed. I wear contacts when I ride so I have the best vision possible, however, I feel the sides of this helmet kind of impede the full aspect of my vision. It's not horrible, just something I've noticed.
Weight: Pretty light weight. I've not had any issue with the weight of this helmet, on my ears, neck or shoulders.
Airflow: I feel this helmet has a ton of airflow which I appreciate. There isn't much of a chin curtain, so I feel this might be an issue in the winter/colder temperatures. I have the vents open on the top, but haven't noticed much wind up there, so far it's not been needed really.
Comfort: Overall, this is a pretty comfortable helmet. The Scorpion squashed my face way too much, and I had tried a half helmet that gave me a headache. That being said, this helmet hasn't given me any of those issues.
Value: I was wanting a helmet with certain features and this one had some, but not all. I was really hoping to get something that had more than a DOT rating, but Ryan's recommendations for this helmet let me concede on that since it likely would pass anyway. I like that the visor comes pin-lock ready, so no extra cost there, just wish the actual visor was in the box. I felt the value was ok, not spectacular, but not overpriced either.

Better than you think!
I bought this helmet too replace my basic one that I had when I was learning too ride. Overall it's a great helmet, great quality and the fit is good but if course needs to be broken in.
My only complaint is that it doesn't come with the chin curtain and it doesn't tell you that it's sold separately. In fact one of the pictures they had made me think it was included the whole time. So it's kind of annoying that they want me too pay for shipping on a $6 chin curtain. Oh well.

Cheek pads are tight and require ample time to break in to be comfortable, but are once done so. Gets extremely loud at 70+ km/h, driving around town on windy days at 50km wants me to wear ear plugs. You'd have to strain your eyes to see any part of the helmet blocking your view. Has a great amount of airflow, if you tuck your head slightly down you can feel the wind rush through the venting ports into your hair and out the back. Helmet shape is good on windy days, haven't needed to strain neck to keep helmet straight where I'm looking.

Was a bit disappointed, looked up reviews that must've been from the UK or something (my fault!) that said it came with the micro ratchet straps and chin curtain. It doesn't come with either and when I ordered the chin curtain for the i70 on fortnine it has no way to attach to this year's model. Also ordered it because the reviews said very low wind noise but it is quite loud, probably partly due to the fact there is no chin curtain. Otherwise it fits fine, shield has a good seal on it and the vents and sun visor work well. Just a bit expensive for what it ended up being

Good value for the price
I wanted a good entry-level helmet, and this fit the bill perfectly.
It is not without its faults, however - but I am satisfied with my purchase.
Pros: Looks great, visor steps are firm and solid, retractable sun shade, good airflow, pinlock "ready".
Cons: Loud. Definitely need earplugs with this baby or you will go deaf/insane in no time at all. No chin guard/screen included. Pinlock not included.
All in all, this is one of the least expensive models that has some great features.
My next helmet will be one that definitely has "quiet" as one of its major attributes.
BTW, my head is ~59". I chose a size Large and found it a bit tight, but after a few rides, it has conformed to my head/face very well. I am glad I chose the Large size.

For $1 this isn't a good deal
Inner visor mechanical linkage broke in a week, I have never had more wind noise from a helmet, the contours cause a horrible screeching whistle with the screen up. The top air vents are useless unless you look straight down. The fit on the inside is garbage, they have removed padding for larger speaker pockets which you will need as the wind noise is so bad. Really a shame and waste of money

Hey there, Would you happen to know how accurate the sizing chart is? I'm right in the middle of 'L' being 23 1/2" (or 59 1/2 cm) but have read reviews with other helmets saying sizing charts are off, suggesting going up or down a size.
HJC's helmet sizing is usually pretty accurate so a size Large should fit you.

In the product detail, it stated that "Anti-fog lens prepared shield, anti-fog lens included". Is actually referring to that of "pinlock insert lens" is included in the helmet purchase?
It does not come with a pinlock insert, but the visor is pinlock ready.
