Great helmet
love my new helmet, one of the best fitting I've ever had. great value for the upgrades from my last helmet like the drop down dark smoke sun shield, chin curtain and pinlock ready visor with the pinlock included. it's my first modular which was a tough choice for me but love being able to open up while fueling up etc...

Bad drop down visor design ruins it
I really wanted to like this helmet, and I did, for the first week or so. Then the drop down visor mechanism stopped working, and I had to pull up/push down the left side with my hand.
5* to Fortnine support for helping me warranty claim it with HJC and paying for postage to return it to them and claim my full refund.
Too bad HJC screwed this one up, there aren't really many options for a modular dual sport lid with a drop down visor.

Great Helmet for the Price
I am very happy with this helmet. The FortNine shopping experience was 5/5 stars! The delivery was extremely fast and the box arrived in pristine condition, as did the helmet. The helmet would get 5/5 stars except for a couple of minor issues. The matte black finish is very susceptible to finger print or any oily residue marks. I would like to see a consist method to activate all of the vents. Each vent has a different means by which it opens. I have yet to install a communication device so I will reserve judgement on that aspect of the helmet. It is very well priced for the quality of the helmet and the fit was surprisingly good and comfortable (no pressure points). As someone who wears glasses, the open modular lid is heaven-sent and makes it a joy to put on and take off. The opening and closing mechanism is easy to operate and does not interfere with the balance of the helmet. Well done HJC and FortNine!

Very impressed overall
Overall this is a fantastic helmet. Upgraded from an LS2 Blaze, due to wind noise and not wanting my head ripped off from wind on the highway.
The i80 had a great true to size fit for me and is very comfortable. First ride today was stable on the highway, didnt fog up and way more quiet than the LS2.
However if you leave the top helmet vent open it’s more obnoxious than an ex wife screaming for child support.
As for the comm system it was a bit of a pain to run the wires around through the liner but with a bit of messing around everything fit good. The mic was no problem for me to mount up but when dropping the chin bar back down it sometimes gets stuck briefly. Overall I would buy this again with 0 hesitation and recommend it to other riders. Ya can’t be too picky if you’re not gonna spend major $$$ but these guys nailed it for the price point!

Great Helmet, weird fit for an HJC
I've had a few HJC helmets through the years, so I felt confident this new helmet would fit the bill.
I currently have 3 other HJC helmets, a dual sport and two street bike helmets, all fit great.
So with this current helmet, my main issue I'm finding (and not until I started riding with it) is that it puts extra pressure on my forehead and slides down my brow, trying to close my eyes unless I put constant pressure upwards with my brow muscles, quite tiring. I'm still trying to figure this out. From what I understand, this helmet should have the same head shape as all the other HJC's I own, so this is quite disappointing. I'm hoping I can figure something out, because otherwise I love the helmet, with the flip-up visor/nose piece being the main reason for purchasing this particular model. I'm wondering if because of the flipup it changes the shape of the helmet? Because I tried on and purchased a Scorpion AT960 recently which is the same design, and strangely it also came with the same type of fit issue (I've since given that one to my son who loves it). Not sure if anyone else has this issue with the helmet.

Bang for the buck
For the price this is a great helmet. I get compliments on the looks all the time. I find it’s pretty quiet. My first modular helmet. I love that feature. It’s a little heavy, but not enough to bother me. I love that it opens about a half inch to let wind through.

Priced right, great helmet
This helmet fits and feels great. The visor is easy to remove but has a tendency of loosening itself through vibrations, this has happened once in 600kms. For the price there isn’t a helmet that can compare, im glad I went with the i80.

Great value for the money
A reasonably priced helmet with all of the features that I wanted. The sizing is good. I didn't have any issues with removing the peak. Which was necessary for highway riding. While facing forward, the wind didnt' catch the peak at all, but turning to the side to do a shoulder check was a different story. It really wanted to twist my head right around.
With the peak off, it was quieter than my old LS2. It fogged much less, and has a nifty little extra chin vent which cleared the visor right away. The defog vent added noise, but less noise than cracking the visor open for the same effect.
I really like the large visor, affords really good visibility.
The first challenge I had with this helmet was fitting a Cardo boom mic. the hard backing of the cheek pad holds the pad out enough that it's difficult to get all of the snaps to stay snapped. Not that big of a deal, but something to be aware of.
The other thing is that I would have preferred the drop-down sun visor to be darker than it is. But it works.
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.
