Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks great, that’s where it ends… This helmet is something I regret purchasing. It’s very loud- after a couple of hours the road noise and whistling starts to wear on a person. The Sena system that’s designed for this helmet is garbage- can’t hear it at highway speed and the speakers press on the ears in a very unpleasant way (the helmet was comfortable prior to this). Removing the pads for cleaning or installing the comm system is somewhat easy, getting them back in and keeping them snapped in place will becomes an exercise in frustration. I purchased thinner pads to hopefully ease the pressure on the ears and hopefully snap securely in place. Nope and nope. I also discovered this helmet to get VERY hot in warmer weather, looks like it’ll be my spring/fall helmet if I ever get the padding sorted out. Definitely won’t be purchasing HJC again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Comfortable, yet very loud. I’ve owned this helmet for two weeks, I bought it the second it came out, to replace my brand new i10. The i10 drove me crazy on the highway. I have to say, I should have kept it. This helmet sounds like there is a tornado in my right ear, yet the left ear is very quiet. It’s of a very high quality, and is very comfortable. Yet the noise, it’s deafening. Coming in somewhere from the neck area. If I shrug my shoulders, the noise is gone, until I relax. There’s a blanking plug for a speaker in the ears, and it’s like an amphitheatre for wind noise. Above 60kph, it’s almost unbearable. That’s a lot of money, right in the garbage. Thanks hjc…

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good helmet, the noise issue is overblown Very comfortable. Sun visor is good, visor is good, airflow is good. Eyeglass channel is helpful. I still put my cardio packtalk slim into it, fits okay, just mounted it to the rear. I don’t find it particularly noisy, it’s much quieter overall than my Bell DLX qualifier MIPS. I think the key with this helmet is that if you’re buying up to this, it’s good. Cheaper than shoei alternatives but maybe slightly worse. If you’re into the shoei or aria, or shuberth, this will be louder, but it does still feel quality. I think it’s important to look at the whole helmet and decide what’s really important to you, and what you are willing to pay for it. This is a good helmet, for the price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Absolute garbage Bought this helmet based on reviews stating it is one of the most quiet helmets out there. The wind noise that comes from the bottom of the right side is deafening as other people have stated. I can confirm if you shrug your shoulders the noise lessens, but no one can ride like that lol! The good points are: it's comfortable and the drop down tinted sun visor.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy!! This is my second helmet my first helmet was a bell mx9 adventure it is super confortable, well ventilated, does not fog but get caught up in the wind over 80kph so i wanted to replace it for something more adapted for highway rides. Anyway here is my 2 cents about the hjc rpha 71 Pro's: fits my head perfectly, super confortable annnnnd thats it Con's: everything else about the helmet. Insanely noisy even compared to my bell mx9 adventure!! Fogs up as soon as i stop. The locking mechanism for the shield is a pain to operate with gloves. The drop down visor is nice except at every position if the shield is open you're eyes are directly blasted by wind. There is nowhere to put you're own comm sets on this helmet the way it's made to have the smart hjc overpriced bs. It's a shame that we can't try helmets on our bikes otherwise I'd never have bought it. I've lost 800$ with this helmet really disappointed. So i repeat do not buy this helmet its a waste of money (sorry for the grammatical errors English is not my native language and i didn't feel like to correct my grammar for this helmet)

Is the white/silver one have a glossy paint compared to the 2 others (red and orange) semi-flat ? Thanx !

                  Asked by: Oranjjje
All the colors, including white/silver, red, and orange, fall under the same semi-gloss category. The pictures might look different, but this is not indicative of the actual finish.
