The reinvented RPHA 90S is the most compact modular helmet, resembling a full-face helmet through weight and appearance, yet functioning as a modular helmet. The Premium Integrated Matrix (P.I.M. Plus) shell provides enhanced shock-resistant performance and a comfortable and very lightweight helmet using reinforcement materials that include carbon and carbon-glass hybrid fabric. The anti-fog and anti-scratch coated sun-visor has increased visibility to reduce eye strain and block sunlight. To reduce the noise in a modular helmet, the RPHA 90S has a 3D-engineered low-noise interior that is focused to reduce noise significantly. For convenience, the EPS design accommodates eyeglasses and sunglasses and also has recessed areas for custom speaker placement.

best quality/price ratioThe is the best helmet I owned so far. Is is the best helmet out there, no but there is no way that the Neotec II is $300 better. It is very light, the visor is solid and stay in place, The top vent allows a lot of air to come in. It is not as quiet as I would like but maybe because my neck is thin. When I play with the material around the neck, the noice dissapear. It has a lot of high end features. Highly recommended.

Best of both worldsI chose this helmet based on reviews that the snug neck opening makes it quieter than many full-face helmets. Indeed, it is quieter than my Shoei Qwest due to the lack of "rumble" coming in from below (which was driving me crazy even with earplugs). It's also lighter and more aerodynamic, resulting in noticeably less neck strain in high winds.
The ability to go open-face in traffic jams is a real bonus, both for comfort as well as for interacting with cagers (because safety isn't always measured in plastic). And when the face shield is closed, metal locking pins give it a secure feeling.
Cons? Earplugs are still recommended due to the lightweight shell, and when combined with in-helmet speakers that don't quite fit the small recesses this can lead to mild outer ear discomfort. Chin bar is a little clunky to latch, and has very little space behind it. Visor doesn't stay open at speed. Left-side sunvisor control forces communicator to be mounted further back than usual.
Overall a top-tier product at a mid-tier price. Not sure I'll ever go back to full-face helmets. And Fortnine remains one of my favourite online retailers in terms of customer service and pricing.

One always takes a bit of a chance when purchasing online, despite having taken precise measurements and taking into account the size of my previous helmet. I need not have had any worries though as it fits perfectly and I'm delighted with the helmet. It has room for Bluetooth communication (which I haven't bothered with so far), a wide view through the visor and a pinlock visor comes with the helmet. The pinlock visor is amazing and there has never yet been any hint of misting up. It's very quiet too with less wind noise than my previous helmet. My preference is for a flip-up full-face helmet and this HJC does the job well with a nice firm click when it's down. Easily released too with your left thumb on the release button. The sun visor is also easy to operate with your left fingers. I have given this helmet 5 stars for its price bracket although admittedly I have never checked out any of its competitors in the same price range.

My first modular helmetGoing from a half helmet I was surprised at how large the field of view is, and I love the drop down sun visor. It is slightly heavier but not heavy. The wind noise is less but closer sounding if that makes sense? I will probably be getting the HJC 10b communication system to better listen to my music. I definitely feel good about the increased protection.

Nice snug skinny head fit, but horrible wind noiseFits my narrow, tall head pretty good. Cheeks are still really snug after a month of use.
There is an ungodly wind howl on the left side that really starts to hurt after about 10 minutes. Forced to wear at least 1 ear plug to keep it from ringing. Suspect it is a skinny neck issue as it goes away when I put my hand on my neck.
Haven't tested the safety, but it works good mechanically.

Light, white, just rightGot the order filled and shipped so fast, everything as advertised, screaming great price on low stock item which I’d been shopping months for.
My gear was packed and I had only to wait a short while before the helmet showed up and I could leave on the last trip of the season. HJC RPHA 90S is light and very aerodynamic reducing neck fatigue on long rides which adds to comfort and safety. The modular design is quieter and liner is tight around my neck and fits closer to my chin reducing unwanted dirty air intake while the vents provide sufficient active ventilation.
I recommend this helmet for touring in all conditions.
What is the difference between the rpha 90 and the rpha 90s helmets.
Asked by: Steve
The HJC RPHA 90S partners with Sena to include integration with the SMART HJC 10B or 20B Bluetooth communicators.

How's the fit compared to an icon alliance and a simpson speed bandit? I own an alliance and even thought it's the XXL, it's on the tight side especially for the cheeks. While the Simpson XL is a very nice fit.
Asked by: Sleight
The Alliance is definitely much more long-oval than the other two. The HJC will fit more like the Simpson. I'd run the XL in the HJC given the sizes you have in each helmet.
