A solid successor to the originalsI had/have the first generation of these (I’ll call them the OG’s). I love them. They kicked all kind of butt. Beefy and strong. Looks, comfort, price and protection all perfectly in balance (usually you can only get three of these at most!). They held up well for almost 7 years of mostly fair weather riding, developing a nice "patina" from blazing sun, road dust and ash. Sadly, near the end of last season a seam in the front began to split a bit and a repair job didn't hold, so it was time to find a replacement. I was pretty bummed at the time to then find out that the OG's were discontinued (as I would have otherwise bought another pair) and started looking at some other options, all of which left me a little flat. Then one day, these new ones drop. What timing!
Most of my comments will involve comparing the new with the old OGs, as they are very similar and share a lot of general attributes (styling, stiffness, etc).
Improvements? Basically it’s like the OG's got divorced, started exercising and spruced up their wardrobe a bit. The new ones are less bulky than the OG's and significantly lighter in terms of weight (though my old ones have about 7 years worth of sno-seal worked into them, so maybe that's part of it?). They are much easier to walk around even if you don’t walk with as much booming authority. I got the brown and like most of the modest styling changes as well (seems like a slightly darker brown, shifter pad is a bit larger and doesn't contrast as much, a few darker elements elsewhere), which improve upon what was already a great looking boot. Fit seems about the same as I remember when my OG's were new. It’s a big toe box so you may need to adjust your shifter (as with the OGs). The leather seems a bit softer, more pliable overall, even with being new, but the soles are still nice and stiff. The armor seems slightly beefed up a bit around the outside of the foot and ankle. I gather it's now D30. The insoles are definitely better than the OG's (which were pretty terrible), though I'll probably be adding some anyway for a bit more cushioning. The OG's were not waterproof at all, and it'd be charitable to even call them water resistant (even after the sno seal) but I haven't had the chance to test these ones in the wet yet so who knows how they will compare.
Quibbles? They got rid of the metal heel plate, which didn't do much other than look rad, but will be missed. I’m not sure I like the new style buckles. They look good and do a great job of holding the straps in place but I find it quite difficult to remove the strap in order to re-adjust them. That said, I know the prior design, while super easy to adjust, had durability issues where parts of the buckle could snap off. Realistically I won't be adjusting the straps that often once they're set and maybe the straps will soften further a bit with time and make this easier. I also don't like that they got rid of the inside floating ankle armor pad. Instead, what they've done is embed armor within the boot itself and position the zipper a little bit more forward than the OG's. Might work well for others but on my feet the ankle armor ends up about an inch/inch and a half behind where I'd want it to be (note - outer ankle side seems to be positioned fine) However, I gather with the OG's some people had a problem with one or more sides of that armor pad coming off, and sometimes it could get in the way while putting the boot on, so I guess it's a compromise. That said, I may try and retro-fit the inside ankle pad from my OG's before putting them out to pasture. Lastly, while it’s nice that they're lighter, I can’t help but think they feel a little bit less robust than the OGs overall. Time will tell.
On balance though? These are a solid successor to the originals and I'd recommend them. While I wasn't as wowed with them as I remember being by the originals, I'm older and crustier now as well. I can't give them a 5/5 but they're at least 4/5. Maybe even 4.5/5.

Great BootI love these boots and use them all 3 seasons, even including the heat of the summer, on my Triumph T100 Bonneville as they look the part of a 60's style riding boot. I have had a lot of positive complements on these boot too. They are my go to boot when using my adventure motorcycle when I know I am doing strictly road or light gravel roads.
Everything is rugged and well built and for a wide footed person they fit supper comfortable. Not too sure where the other commenter thought the buckles are flimsy and a pain to use. You set them once and use the zippers to get in and out of the boot.
If I had to give one negative comment about these boots, is they are not waterproof, but they never claimed to be, so how can I fault them on that? Not being waterproof is probably why they are more breathable on those super hot day.
I love them.

Much darker then picture, Nice boot.I just got these and they are way darker then the picture on the website. But they actually look better this way in my opinion. These are extremely comfortable but fit a bit large. I got the size 12 and I should of got half size smaller i think. These are definitely not the most safe boots, they are too comfortable to be that safe. But they look like they have some nice impact padding in important areas. They are much more confortable then my old Formaz adventure boots, but i reckon these are not the same type at all. The clip for ajustement are a real pain and are real flimsy feeling, good thing it has a zipper as the clips are very hard to adjust.
Will update when i get to ride these, waiting for parts to get the bike running

Weird Design FlawsI have had a chance to use these boots and here is my review. The leather is very soft, great for walking but perhaps not so great for protection. The shift pad is too far back on the boot and doesn't actually contact the shifter. That and the soft leather means that it is your almost naked toe doing the shifting. Also, the flat sole places your foot high on the footpeg, making it hard to fit the fairly bulbous toe of the boot under the shifter. I don't have this problem with any other boot. I bought this boot so that I could fit the legs of my pants into the boot, and for that they're great, although the redesigned buckles are a major pain to move. I'm not sure why Icon redesigned this boot, but I think they completely missed the mark. If you have some old Elsinores, hang on to them. Mine are going to the second hand market and I'll continue my (expensive) quest for the perfect boot.

Style:10/10 Protection: 2/10I bought these and loved the look but returned them before ever riding with them, they are extremely thin and flimsy. The only valid protection is on the shin, but if you were to drop your bike on your foot while wearing these, you'd be in a world of hurt. They have no rigidity, no steel toe or reinforcements around the ankle or on top to protect the top of your feet.

Very comfortable, with one "flaw"...Just received these and have worn them around the house for an hour, so bear that in mind. The reason I added a review so quickly is that I wanted to let people know there is a very specific "flaw" (for lack of a better term) that you should be aware of. This problem is that if you have a calf (about 3" below the knee) that is larger than 19" around (mine are exactly 19"), these will probably NOT zip up at the largest buckle setting. I am wearing the thinnest pants I own and I can barely get the zipper up. I am hoping that the leather will stretch out to accept jeans by next year if i keep wearing them around the house.
Overall, I love the look, they are comfortable, and seem sturdy. Great boot!

Great bootsI love these boots. At 199.99$ on sale they are great riding boots and are very comfortable. I find them easy to adjust and with the zip up on the side they come on and off really easy.
