Improved performance.
It may just be in my mind, but I put this K&N filter in my 92 GL 1500 to replace the OEM one in it. The old filter was dirty but not terribly so I made the change. I feel the bike is running better with the K&N

Worth a try
I installed the K&N high-flow air filter more than a month ago, and though it's too early to tell how well it will perform, I am pleased that the suction sound is lower than I was expecting. The fit is amazingly snug and perfect. I would definitely buy this product again.

What is the main difference between the 'Unique' and 'Race' filter... Is it recommended to use the Race Filter on the Street? What are the disadvantages of using the Race filter on the Street
Hi Davio,
It is not recommended to use the race filter on the street, as it is not oiled. Dirt racers don`t need this since they are often on the go. They can take it out, tap it on the ground to clean it and go. However most universal or unique filters, for street applications, require more maintenance. They must be cleaned out and re oiled after the recommended mileage.

Hi, I purchased this K&N filter last season from Fort Nine. I am just about to install it. My question is, is this filter already oiled? I ask because it doesn’t feel like it is (no oil residue). Appreciate the feedback.
Almost all K&N air filters come pre-oiled and ready to use. The filter oil they use is red. A new oiled filter will appear red-pink in color. The filter should be ready to use straight out of the box.

Does changing to a high air-flow filter require a change to exhaust and fuel settings to really see any change to performance?
I found this to be the case with my Suzuki Savage, up one jet size, sounds better and less back firing.
