Nice filter
I go through at least 3 changes a year and I Bought my first K&N filter as my normal one wasn't available at the time. I will say it has a nice solid construction, speed nut on end is the way to go, won't slip as easy as the filter wrench, a little pricy but you get what you pay for.

good filter, never any issues
Been using these on my previous bike and now on my new bike as well, never had any issues. I really like the wrench nut feature which makes it much easier to install and remove.

Good build quality
Filter is well engineered and built sturdy. Only downside is that it does come with with the rubber 0 - rings needed for the v-star.

Poor Quality, Buyer Beware
Purchased this oil filter for my Honda VFR800 before embarking on a trip from Canada to the US. After riding for approximately 2,000km my bike started gushing out oil in the middle of a mountain highway. After pulling over and inspecting the bike, discovered that the issue was caused by the 17mm nut affixed onto the end had popped out on one side causing the bike to shoot out oil about 3 meters. Oil went everywhere. After 3 hours of waiting for my riding buddies to get to and from the nearest town we replaced the oil filter, with a non-K&N filter, was back on the road. Will never purchase this product again and wanted to warn others that if you also receive a faulty product this could happen to you randomly. While it may be convenient to have the nut affixed for easy removal the poor quality and craftsmanship may cause you more problems than what it's worth! Extremely disappointed and hope this warning saves you from this occurring on your bike.
