One big pocket.
It's fairly nice leather, with one large pocket. I would be concerned about most small things I would want to place in it falling out unless they were in an organizer or something. The buckle to close the pouch is the only one that's high quality metal, the other two are cheap plastic. Also I've apparently put on more winter weight than expected as the leg strap is maxed out and barely fits.
