Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket Got the Carlsbad Jacket and Pants combo in Sage / Hi viz. Debated on the colour originally but it looks extremely good in person (internet pics don't do it justice). The suit is waterproof and breathable (as you'd expect from Gore-Tex) and got stuck in multiple downpours on the highway without any issues. Just gotta make sure your zippers are zipped ALL THE WAY up, or you'll get leaks ... I think Klim has a bit more of an American cut (larger midsection) than other brands. I have an athletic build and larger chest and long arms, needed room for layers for colder weather, ended up getting a Large. Everything fits well except the mid-section, where it's baggy. I wish this jacket would have had cinch straps for the waist / mid section like other jackets from their touring line like the Latitude. Feels like a design oversight hence the 4-star rating for the price of the jacket. However, I always wear a hydration pack for longer adventures back roads adventures so this is a minimal issue for me but something to consider. D30 padding falls at the good spots and isn't awkward, jacket airflow is great when all vents are opened up but also warm enough to ride in 5-10° weather with only a base layer and staying comfortable. A bit on the heavy side (apparently much lighter still than Badlands Pro), but remains flexible and stays comfortable for all day riding, whether on or off road. Also has a ton of pockets, some outside, many inside. Look up video reviews for more details. Yes you can zip it with the pants! tl;dr Great jacket with good value for money in terms of packed features. If the missing waist cinch straps aren't an issue for a better fitting, I recommend it in a heartbeat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket, quality feel, good fit Bought this jacket as a do it all touring jacket, and it has been great in temps from low teens to mid thirties (Celsius, over 30C I use a cooling gel vest underneath, with the vents open works great at keeping cool). Sizing was a little off for me, I am 6'1" ~185lbs, athletic, ~42-43 chest, typically wear XL t-shirts, most motorcycle jackets I am a large or sometimes XL, but got medium in the Carlsbad and it fits perfect. Long sleeves (but great when riding), shoulders and chest fit well, enough space to layer underneath when cold. Haven't had a chance to rain test it yet, confident in the Goretex and Klim's rep that should keep me dry. Got the Petrol/strike/orange color and like it better in person than the photos, orange is brighter/punchier in real life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of pockets This is my second Klim jacket, previous was the Overland. Well designed and made jacket for motorcycles. Vents front and rear and new forearm vents! Lots of pockets. D3O armour technology is great, google it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality, truly waterproof, good features. I, e been through a few B.C. Downpours and not a drop came through! Very good fit. Doesn’t feel bulky but still offers the top D-30 armour. It will be my go to riding jacket.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not water proof Nice jacket, lots of features, good ventilation, but isn't water proof. I got soaked the first time riding in the rain. Jacket leaks through a zipper on the front, and yes all the zippers were closed. Most items I had in internal pockets also got very wet. I don't find the collar of the jacket comfortable as it presses on the front of my neck. The ventilation zippers on the fore arms don't stay closed, opening at the wrist letting in air and water. My 15 year old Teknic jacket is still more comfortable, waterproof and cost a fraction of this Klim jacket. Note: I also have the Carlsbad pants and they are very good and keep me dry.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This product is not waterproof as advertised. Awesome product, high-quality. This product is not waterproof as advertised, at least not in mid to heavy rain. I started to get slightly wet after 30 minutes riding in constant rain in the front ribs area. Everything in the pockets were wet and it looks like all the zippers were letting water in. The pants (Carlsbad also) were a bit worst, at the upper leg area between the knee and waist area. Same problem with leaking pockets. It appears that the design of its zippers and pockets flaps were designed (and tested) with the intend of someone standing up in the rain. The pocket flaps are looking down when standing and the zipper garages are on top. In riding position, the upper leg stands horizontally along with the rain. The rain and wind push right into the pants zipper garage and pocket flaps. Windproof yes, waterproof no and you’ll need to buy and carry an extra rainsuit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket but check all zippers. I ordered a medium Klim latitude jacket but it was too small, had to return it. With no large left, I decided to try the Carlsbad jacket (large), glad I did. It’s a touch big, just perfect for additional layers. When adjusted right all that high quality armor falls into place. There’s plenty of storage space but check to see if all the zippers work. One of mine on the inside was jammed, a minor inconvenience that I fixed. I’m wondering if it’s waterproof with all those zippers? I haven’t had the chance to try it out and I’m in no rush. I noticed that in order for the forearm ventilation zippers to stay closed the tab has to be up for it to lock. At 10 degrees C, with a good layer, I was very comfortable. Made with quality material. An adventure jacket but hey, it works for me. Yes, it’s expensive but you get what you pay for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply the best ! I had too many of non-efficient jackets and pants. These times are over. This one does it all and does it good.

Will the Carlsbad jacket zip together with the Badlands Pro pants?

                  Asked by: Trevor650
Yes as long as they are the most current generation. The link below would be the pants that work with it. https://fortnine.ca/en/klim-badlands-pro-pants

I'm looking for a replacement for my Rev'it Cayenne jacket - like a slimmer fit, but looking for Gortex. I've heard that KLIM is pretty baggy - just how baggy are we talking?

                  Asked by: M J R
Fairly baggy at the midsection to be honest. Bought a large following the sizing chart for Chest and arm length. Everything falls perfectly (shoulders, arms etc.) but the midsection is supper baggy and only after couple rides did I realize there's no cinch straps at the waist to fix the issue... As an adventure jacket though, I'm always wearing a hydration pack anyways that kind of solves this issue. Aside from that, I love the jacket and all the features, especially when paired with the pants. cheers
