Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good Bought a month ago and haven’t had a chance to ride much with it. However, it appears to be of high quality. I installed a Cardo communication device onto it and had to utilize the sticky tape. Really like the large face shield and how light it is. It does fit a bit bigger than my previous helmet which was a shoei RF1200. So far so good!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from has some issue The orange fads, and the transitional lens shows cracks around the pinlock. KLIM has replaced the lens twice under warranty. But I'm not convinced the issue is solved. Both issues should not happen with a $1000 helmet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding helmet Bought this for my GF. Much better ventilation than the previous version as well as being much lighter than her old(er) ADV helmet. Works well with goggles and less highway noise than my earlier KRIOS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Helmet! Very comfortable helmet. I was worried ordering a helmet online without trying it on first but it worked out perfect. It is light, quiet, comfortable and the visor works great. Im still getting used to the magnetic fastener but I think in time I'll like it. I was worried because sometimes a medium is to small for me but the fit was perfect. A little expensive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent produit et service Ce casque vaut le prix. Très léger, silencieux. La palette est très bien positionné et a presque aucune prise dans le vent. Super bonne ventillation. La visière transition est parfaite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome This helmet is a little heavier than the lighter-than-air expectation I had. It is still considerably lighter than my Arai XD4. It's much bigger than the XD-4--the shell is larger and it has much thicker padding. Notably, it won't fit into my Touratech panniers when my Arai fit comfortably. Fit and finish is great. Its a gorgeous helmet. Comes with a photochromatic visor (which is awesome, I wear it with the beak on the helmet even though there is a disclaimer not to), a regular visor and a pinlock. Air flow is not as good as the Arai--thank god. The Arai is the coldest possible helmet when the weather turns. This one has a propensity to fog--but I have yet to commit to the pinlock install. As far as breathability off road--I have never found this to be a problem. Lift the visor if you want more air! With the shield down the helmet is fairly quiet. Buy one size smaller. I have a big head, usually wear XL but this is a L and fits perfectly. Hard to evaluate whether it's good value for the money--its SOOOOOOOO d*** expensive!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lightweight, Looks Great I want to give this helmet 5 stars so bad, and for the price I should be able to with ease. There are several little things however that just cant be overlooked when you pay the price for a premium helmet! Pros: Yes, it is 100 percent the lightest helmet in my line up. On those long 1000km plus days I appreciate the time and engineering put into such a lightweight piece of equipment. When your driving into heavy wind, the helmet has a almost strange feeling of locking itself into a position and staying there. I own other ADV helmets that seem to wobble and pulsate in the same conditions. The strap is almost to easy... by far in my top 3 favorites on this equipment. The venting is substantially better than the previous model (non pro), and by far better than my other ADV helmets. The field of view is an absolute treat. Peripheral vision is a must for me and with this helmet you have more than you need! The Koroyd is a plus for sure, just hope its not used to its full potential. Cons: Fairly loud, but not a big deal. When its highway time earplugs come out no matter what helmet. When you get into the thick of things I actually prefer a helmet that gives me better motor feedback. The transition lens is a double edged sword! I love it as much as I hate it! Flip it up for 30 seconds in the sun and you have a ridiculous tinted and non tinted pattern in your vision. That along with the fact that the first detent is about 3/4 of an inch to high. This is completely overlooked by Klim in my opinion. The cheek pads are super comfortable, but they break in to a full helmet size up. I had to order the next pad size down in order to break in to the correct safe size. On the bright side they are $40.00 CDN and FORTNINE has them in two colors! The absolute worst part of this helmet is the visor fit! Out of the box there was a massive gap from the visor to the rubber seal. You literally get more dust inside your visor than outside! Well easy, just adjust the set screws and your good. Wrong! This system is old, and completely garbage for this price. It wears easily, and is extremely hard to adjust as the set screws get covered by the lens when your trying to fit it correctly! This almost made me retire this $1000 piece of equipment. Luckily FN does carry the replacement parts at a killer price, just hope you never have to fit them! All in all, this is a lot of money for a helmet that is lacking in some pivotal areas. It looks amazing, feels amazing, and with some tweaks is almost there. But at the price there should be zero tweaks to do. If the Arai xd4 didnt look so stinking outdated, that would still be the go to. This should be well under $700 IMO.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight and innovative I have been in the market for a new helmet since last summer, however the search for a helmet with "the perfect fit" has been elusive and has also been complicated by the fact that local dealerships have not been able to get a varied and complete product line due to shortages caused by COVID complications. The helmet I had been using (size XL) tended to give me a headache as there was a hot spot on the front top of my forehead. My son, who is built quite similarly in size to myself purchased a Klim Krios Carbon a couple of years ago and has been quite happy with it. After reading about the claimed safety advantages of the Koroyd inner liner and some reviews that emphasized the virtues of the light weight, Fidlock fastener and included pinlock inner shield and transitions visor I was very interested in the Klim Krios Pro. However, there didn't seem to be any in Canada or for the majority of the time I was looking in North America or even Europe in a size that I thought I would need. So, I couldn't try one on to see if it would meet my needs. When I tried my son's Krios Karbon in size XL it did contact the top of my forehead in a manner that I thought would give me a headache if I wore it for any length of time. On the Klim size charts my head measured on the upper end of the size XL and so I reasoned that an XXL would provide a bit more room. I looked into the possibility of trying competitive adventure helmets from the Japanese manufacturers, however again, stock was low or non-existent in appropriate sizes wherever I looked. As a result, I made the decision to try to pursue acquiring a Klim Krios Pro and emailed FortNine and asked them to let me know when they had stock in an XXL, and they gave an affirmative response about a month later. Knowing that my son's XL helmet would produce a hot spot on my upper forehead, I ordered the XXL. The ordering process was easy and quick and my new helmet arrived in a timely manner. Upon trying on my beautifully finished Klim Krios Pro in Striking Orange (to match my KTM) and size XXL, I found to my dismay that I still had an uncomfortable contact point on the upper front of my forehead. The crown liner fit was OK, however did leave a bit more room than in other helmets I have used on the sides of my head. The cheek pads felt to be just right to me. So, I decided that I would do some experimenting to see if I could improve the fit for my head. The main change that I tried was to add a thin layer of foam above the central two thirds of the crown line that was cut to match the vents in the crown liner as well as a piece of thin foam on either side of my head. Voila!!!! The helmet fit felt great!! Upon studying product information and published reviews, I determined that the different sized crown liners and cheek pads that Klim offers as replacements were interchangeable between size XL and size XXL helmets. FortNine had them in stock so I ordered a Crown Liner (and also cheek pads to try) in size XL. Upon installing the XL Crown Liner, I no longer need the thin foam on either side of my head to achieve a good fit. I did find however, that the helmet fit for me was still much better with my thin foam above the crown liner than without it. I have now used the helmet for over 6 weeks and love it!!! There is decent air flow through the helmet although I expected that there would be more over the top of my head than I feel. However, the weather here has been hot so any extra ventilation would be appreciated. To this point due to wildfire risk and access to the back country being very limited, I have only used it for riding on the road and as such, have only used it without the visor. I have used the included transitions shield with the included pinlock insert. I wear glasses and normally find that using clip ons causes strange optical variations using a shield with a pinlock (I suspect it it because the clip ons are polarized), so sunglasses has not been an option. However, the transition visor fixes that problem and so far I really like how it works. On another FortNine review of this helmet, the reviewer complained of a poor face shield to helmet fit. To this point my experience has been, that on my helmet, the face shield/visor fit is very good and that when in the rain, I don't get any water coming in through that nor do I get any dust intrusion between the shield and the helmet that I can detect. In addition the noise level and the degree of buffeting that I feel is very comparable to my old helmet which is a road only full face. I expect that using the visor will probably cause some increase in buffeting effects. As an aside, I have installed a Cardo Pactalk Bold unit in my helmet and for my helmet and my head, I am very pleased with how it has worked out. I positioned the speakers behind the ear flaps of the cheek pads (held in place with velcro loop material to the same velcro that the cheek pads adhere to), and I use the microphone that attaches directly to the inside of the helmet (not the boom microphone). I wear earplugs and the helmet with the Cardo unit installed does not impinge on my ear at all once it is on my head. The installation was quick, easy and turned out very tidy. All in all, I think that for me, as modified with the extra thin foam that I installed over top of the Crown Liner, it would get 5 stars out of 5. My 4 star rating is solely due to my needing to install that piece of foam and also shift an XL Crown liner into my XXL helmet to make the fit perfect for my head. I realize that for others whose head is a bit different shape than mine, their experience may be different.

                  Questions

Is this helmet made in China? Are the vents exactly like the Klim Krios? Any changes?

                  Asked by: Bandit
If the Krios Pro is made by the same company as the regular Krios, they are manufactured by Nishua Helmets in China.
