Questions
It looks like the trim ring would be screwed into the tank filler opening. Doesn't a keyed entry system, filler cap, comes off with the trim ring when the key is used to remove the cap? How does the system prevent this from happening?
I didn't experience that issue. I recall there were 2 longer screws that set the ring so it wouldn't move. That was 2 years ago so memory may be failing me
