Top Quality
Had this backrest a few weeks now on my 2007 electraglide. Very comfortable. It's built very well.. quality hardware throughout. Easy to remove and put back on. My only issue is when i remove my seat the hardware catches the underside of the seat. At first I didn't know why the sea didn't want to come off and it caused a tear in the lining under the seat. Now that I'm aware of it I can put my hand through the seat slot and prevent that. But very happy with the backrest.

Matches my seat perfectly
Matches my stock seat perfectly, plenty of adjustment choices. Now I just need the weather to cooperate so I can put some miles on. Still plenty of room for a passenger when it's installed

Kuryakyn drivers backrest

Great Backrest
Bought this backrest as Kuyakyn is known for high quality products. It was also $200 cheaper then the HD backrest. Installed easy and it is very adjustable for the drivers needs. Would highly recommend this product.

Dosn't flip forward but it's easy to remove and put back in. I just remove it when riding with a passenger

Would this work with a Harley Tall Boy Seat?
Yes and no. I had to make a couple of small brackets to move it back about an inch and then it worked great. There isn't much of anything made that works properly with the Tall Boy seat as the slot in the seat is too far back. For moving the mount back I just used some 3/4" or 1" wide flat bar that was about 1/8" thick. I cut two lengths and drilled holes to mount it on each side of the backrest mount. I used some stainless low profile round head bolts inserted from the bottom through the bars and then the mount with the nuts on top. The two flat bar pieces extended forward of the backrest mount with holes drilled in the ends to mount it to the two studs on the fender. I also extended the center bracket with parts from a Harley backrest mount I had on hand. It could easily be extended with the same flat bar material. I also stuck a couple rubber pads on the fender just incase the mount flexed back so the bolt heads would not damage the fender. Making it work with the Tall Boy seat was easier than it is to try and explain it. By the way I had a '15 Road Glide that I used it on.

How does this back rest detach and adjust? I've seen the Harley ones and they squeeze to adjust and remove.
The mount has a spring loaded SS ball in it that holds the backrest at different heights by the detents in the bar. To remove the backrest you just pull it out of the mount and the ball will release from the detent. To put it back on you just insert it back in the mount and push it in.
